Episode 95 - How to Craft Your Identity to Build Your Dream Life (w/ Anthony Trucks)

Are you intimately familiar with your identity? Who are you now, and were you any different from the person that you were a few years back?

Sometimes, we're faced with the challenge of drifting away from who we are, or who we want to be. Just as Anthony says, having a glimpse of other people's perspective towards you can help you figure out who you are, and can help give you a clearer vision of yourself. It's also important that you ask yourself who you were, who you currently are, and who you want to become. With the answers, you will be able to formulate a plan that works towards realizing the identity that you dream to attain. 

Stemming from the Latin word "Identitatem" meaning "sameness," the word "Identity" represents the characteristics that determine who or what a person or thing is. When you combine the aspects that define a person and the person themselves, identity is- in one way or another- achieved. By then, the person and the traits that they have are one with each other. At times, a person experiences a particular dissonance where they are unable to figure out who they are, or where they belong in the world. They're at a loss trying to find the characteristics that ultimately define them.

Fortunately, humans are complex, and identities don't tend to stay the same or remain a question. Just because you can't get up at 4 in the morning to push through with an intensive workout routine now, doesn't mean you won't be able to do it later. Humans are intelligent, and have the ability to adapt. With that said, they're able to shift identities. You can always work towards obtaining the characteristics you desire, all you have to do is plan your journey and to follow that plan without any compromises.

For this video, I invited former NFL player and ex-American Ninja Warrior Anthony Trucks to talk about the Identity Shift, the process of controlling your identity to change your life and the traits that make up who you are. With the Shift Method, Anthony explains that you can become the future self that you dream to be, with almost any trait that you desire to obtain- in time. Join us as we tackle different phases that take place during one's identity shift, and the specific steps and nitty-gritty details on how you can further improve your self-improvement game plan.

Episode 95 - A Message You Need To Hear (w/ Terrance X Johnson)

Hey guys! 

Have you ever stopped for a second and thought about looking back at your life as far as 10 years ago? Have you tried comparing your current self to your past self to see if you've grown since then?

Maybe you're faced with so much adversity and overwhelming struggles at the moment, and it's made it difficult for you appreciate how far you've come now. Sometimes it gets a little too disorienting when all these problems are coming at you from everywhere, but when we regain our footing in the middle of all the challenges life throws at us, we've got to realize how much we've grown. Every hurdle we've already overcome has taught us a valuable lesson. Otherwise, we wouldn't be where we are now if we hadn't learned them then.

A lot of times, solving the problems which hinder our growth has to be done by looking inwards. Fear has been the precursor to danger for the longest, but the most important thing to note about fear is that it's not real. Although danger may be very real, sometimes fear shows up in situations that danger never would, and that's what stops us from achieving things that could have otherwise been the next level to our journey for growth.

"To fear something that hasn't even happened is insanity."

When you fear something unfortunate that hasn't even taken place, you're submitting to the negative effects of a non-existent outcome. 

For this episode, I invited former Disney Executive Terrance X Johnson to share a very important message about growth. We'll also be discussing different growth-hindering struggles that emerged in our entrepreneurial journeys, and the values and mindsets we learned to overcome them with. Terrance explains that we are able to overcome fear if we learn to embrace reality and live in the now. If we learn to focus more on what's going on rather than what MIGHT or might never even) happen, we can avoid feeling the adverse consequences of an outcome that's real only in our heads.

Alongside this in-depth talk about growth and fears are many other valuable golden nuggets to pick up, such as how humility can teach one to showcase their value through service, having the right view towards the challenges of entrepreneurship, and the hidden power of having a positive frequency. He'll also talk about how writing what you want down is a helpful way to practice manifestation. Episode 93 - Overcome Adversity Through Laughter (w/ Pete Cann)
*******

If you walked into a room full of people laughing their butts off for seemingly no reason, how would you react? Scared, perhaps? Or maybe confused?

This was an experience Pete went through during his trip to the WOMAD Festival in 2016. As he passed by, he heard the bellowing laughter of a crowd. Thinking a comedian was on-stage, he decided to let the noise pique his curiosity and walked in to join them. He never expected to see loads of people on the floor just uncontrollably giggling the wind out of their lungs. There was no comedian. What the heck is going on?

Laughter Yoga. Those were the words written on the sign by the entrance. What on earth is "Laughter Yoga?"

Laughter, as you probably already know, is the natural response of the human body towards something either physically or mentally humorous. It's often an involuntary thing, an expression of amusement. But there's more to laughter than just a reaction, or an expression. To many Laughter Yogis like Pete Cann, Laughter is relief. These yogis really take the term "laughter is the best medicine" on a whole new level.

No, Laughter Yoga isn't comedy. It's actually a very unique (and effective) mindset or mood exercise. It's not only for entertainment, but also for one's well-being. At first, it may seem awkward or downright weird. But there's a science to this as well. When you start practicing voluntary laughter and start pumping the oxygen through your system, your brain starts to believe that whatever it is you're laughing about, is actually funny.

It all starts snowballing from there. The awkwardness disappears, the "HA HAs" begin heaving out on their own, then you find yourself on the ground- or halfway there- head hanging low and arms around your stomach. By the end of the session, you're all teary-eyed and red. However, most importantly, you feel much better. Laughter Yoga recharges your mood and gives you the much-needed positive energy that your brain needs to function beyond your optimal capacity. Doing things with a cheerful mindset is great!

For this episode, I invited one of the most cheerful yogis around- Pete Cann, The Laughter Man. Today, he will be discussing his very own journey as an entrepreneur and laughter yogi. He will also share his own tips and tricks on how to give your life a little more joy through voluntary, uncontrollable and therapeutic laughter. Owning a chef employment agency for the last 13 years, Pete found an opportunity to help himself and many others around the world through laughter. Now called Canned Laughter, his company has helped employees improve their mood within their workplace, resulting in a more positively charged increase in their productivity. Who doesn't like a good laugh?

While it's true that literally putting our money, time and effort into our business can do more than just help its growth, it's important to note that also putting that same abundance of investment into ourselves will really shape our lives for the better. The question is: Have you started investing in YOU?

All of these resources are never wasted if they're spent to help you realize your own values and goals as well as gaining a clear vision of them. In a way, you can consider it a form of self love. You're helping yourself grow and evolve. As Bob Gentle stated, you can only learn when you're moving. If you don't move, there's nothing to course-correct from. Life coaches, trainers, business advisors: They're worth all the money. Remember, things you don't know that you don't know could get you in trouble, and the best way to avoid that is by investing in yourself. Invest in your growth to expand and evolve, to know what you initially didn't.

Today's episode features our returning guest and business coach Bob Gentle as we talk about "Masterminds." Forming your own Mastermind is one of the most helpful self-investments out there. What's a Mastermind? A Mastermind group is a meeting between multiple peers with the objective of giving each other helpful advice. The goal is to give and receive your own advice or life lessons to each other in order to collectively benefit and grow. To form a mastermind group, you should find at least five or six of other fellow entrepreneurs who share similar ideals with you. 

Stay tuned as we discuss how we brought about our own mastermind groups, and how YOU can make your own. On this episode, you can expect important tips such as sharing values with your other Mastermind friends, and having the right outlook as you become a part of one. Apart from a multitude of other tips we'll be discussing, Bob advises that it's a sure way to learn if you're the small fish in the room. Always ask yourself how much control you have as a part of your Mastermind, and never forget to park your ego at the door! If you'll enter a mentor-based Mastermind, it's best to be a giver. If you want to grow, others do too! By giving as you receive, you'll grow together.

Episode 89 - Setting Yourself Up for Success (w/ Dean Kelly)

Hey everyone!

On this episode, I invited serial entrepreneur Dean Kelly to help us break down the exact process of how we can successfully jumpstart our business and talk about his own personal journey as he built the foundations of his own career from the ground up. As an aspiring young entrepreneur, Dean already had a vision of his own goals, and knew exactly what he wanted to achieve early on in his life.

Coming from an average family without wealthy roots, Dean is faced with hardships. With his friends going to prison and his life seemingly passing him by at the age of 21, he decided to write down 10 things to ultimately achieve. Not even a decade later, he had achieved 9 of those 10 goals, and by the age of 40, he was able to finally fulfill the last one; meeting Prime Minister David Cameron. 

Now the holder of the fastest zero to exit sale offered by a recruitment company in the UK, Dean exited for an 8 figure sum at the age of 30, only nearly 3 years after starting! Still an active businessman, Dean is the founderof RealiseEd, which is an education agency that focuses on seeking out the best schools for their applicants, maximizing the best opportunities for their career in education. 

Dean is also the original NED advisor and investor of SourceBreaker, which is the 48th fastest growing tech company in Europe (FT 2019.) Tune in as we delve further into the various steps he took in order to set himself up for success and build the life he dreamed for himself.

For today's episode, I invited prolific investor and blogger Chris Odegard to talk about how jumping ship from conventional investments to alternative investments could massively impact your success. If you're tired of being part of the herd and using conventional means only to earn a little, Chris is here to open new doors. 

Learning only later on in his life, Chris realized that there were more ways to financially prospering than just through stocks, or retirement plans and mutual funds. On today's show, he talks about how he discovered Alternative Investments, explaining that the returns that they present can be more reliable and profitable than your usual every-day investment.

Join us as we zero in on very important and informative topics, such as Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs, and Chris's very own iteration of it known as the "Hierarchy of Investors." He states that following this hierarchy can help you make more profitable investments if done right, and can even reward you with as much as 15%-30% in annual returns. In comparison, conventional investments usually earn just about 5%-10% in returns, and that's a big difference.

Chris doesn't even need to work anymore, and if he can do that, you can too. As an educator, Chris strives to help others learn what he did later on in his life. The upside to it is that you can start sooner! As the founder of The Prolific Investor, his goal is to challenge conventional wisdom and show people exactly why it isn't working.

On this episode, I invited multi 7-figure business owner Mark Bowness to talk about how he established a large community of 34,000 coaches and built himself, learning to detach from outcomes and creating a successful online business. Now at the top of his game and continuing to further improve himself and his career, Mark sits with us to pass a bit of his knowledge over.

These recent years have been rough for the world, and more so in the business industry. With COVID-19 developing new strains and quarantines becoming more strict as time goes on, governments are forced to temporarily withhold hundreds of thousands of private businesses to help prevent the spread of the Coronavirus. Because of this, physical businesses are beginning to close down and go bankrupt due to the unavailability of customers. 

Although a lot of entrepreneurs have taken logistical casualties because of the virus, a good half of the business world learned to adapt to the new normal by establishing online brands and utilizing social media such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and other websites to keep them running. This episode also features Mark's advice on how to start your own online business and keep it running through digital means. 

Mark Bowness is the founder and director of We Build Tribes, helping thousands of coaches, entrepreneurs, and business owners improve and build their own tribes. He first founded his international business by leasing a 200 acre-island in Fiji to invite the world, welcoming them to become "tribe members." This project, "Tribewanted," earned the spotlight in over 200 media outlets globally.
