It is a great day for snow lovers in the Northeast. Odell has moved into the New York area and has already exceeded original expectations. Parts of Northern and Western New York should be seeing over a foot of snow with this storm, while select areas in Vermont, New Hampshire, and Maine could see a foot and a half!

Right now, Odell is bringing significant snowfall numbers to the Midwest. Southern Michigan could see around 5-8 inches as this storm passes through. The other big story in the Midwest is the extreme winds producing flooding concerns and 12 foot waves on Lake Michigan! As Odell moves in the Northeast, it combines with another low that is moving up the East Coast. This will bring a ton of energy into the system leading to over a foot of snow in select locations of New York, New Hampshire, and Maine. Lake effect snow will play a large role in New York, where accumulations are still possible as we move into the weekend.

Right now, Odell is bringing significant snowfall to the Midwest. These snow accumulations, mixed with extreme winds, and record high lake levels, are leading to both blizzard and flooding concerns in the region. There is some exciting weather expected over the next week. A cutoff low, fueled by Pacific and Gulf moisture, will move throughout the country bringing rain to most places. Later in the week, a massive trough forms and could bring a major snowstorm to the Northeast on Thurs/Friday.
