Community Brookside

This morning we are reading some of the parables of Jesus that speak directly of the Kingdom of God. We will see how the Kingdom of God is not something we only look forward to once we die, but we can have hope that we can play a role in bringing the Kingdom of God into the here and now.

Last week, Pastor Andy Henson reminded us to accept the invitation of Jesus into something new. This week we will be reminded of the dedication it takes and the challenges we will face when we decide to follow Jesus.

No matter what the cost, following Jesus is worth it!

This week we are going to finish the story of Joseph as we learn about forgiveness and reconciliation. We will see how Joseph, despite the way he was treated, invites his family to come and enjoy the spoils of the land of Egypt, where he is second in command.

The story of Joseph is one that reminds us that while things may look scary for us, God's plan is always for our good! God proves through this story that when we follow where he leads, things will eventually work out...even when it doesn't look like it will.

The story of Abraham is a wonderful story of obedience mixed with human fragility. When we think about trusting and following God, the story of Abraham is one that should inspire us. Abraham trusted God in all things and when God asked him to go, Abraham faithfully went.

Abraham is a great example of what obedience looks like...even when it means he has to offer up his greatest treasure as a sacrifice. Join us as we dive deeply into the story of one of our faith's greatest fathers.
