How are telecommunications are dealing with changing behavior and the financial challenges of the New Normal?

In this week's episode, Flávio Lang, Executive Director of Liberty Latin America, talked to us about how the Telecom sector has been behaving during the isolation.

He showed us the importance and the difference that Telecommunications have in this very unique moment in the market and how the markets where Liberty operates are dealing with the impact of financial and behavioral changes in this new reality.

In a region where countries reach frightening rates of poverty that can reach up to 40%, the isolation and differentiated demand for connectivity at this historic moment further highlight social and digital differences.

Jose Otero, Vice president of Latin America and the Caribbean at 5G Americas, told us how the digital divide is evident in the face of the coronavirus pandemic.

For him, this situation highlights the differences that previously plagued the region and that governments were no longer aware of these social and digital inequalities in previous moments.

The "new normal" forced Latin America to accelerate the coexistence between the traditional and the digital. This week, it was the turn of Israel Madiedo, Izzi's Innovation and Technology Director, to talk about the experience of the providers in the face of the biggest nowadays telecommunications challenge.  The sector will need to adapt to the current behavior of the user and what will emerge after the isolation, since, at least in Latin America, going to school, working and talking to people gained other possibilities, which were little explored before the pandemic. For Israel, not only concerned, but also occupied, all Telecom professionals must remain, as this is a unique moment and full of opportunities.
