This week I have a guy from one of the greatest ska bands to ever come out of Canada! I have Matt Collyer, the front man / singer / guitarist for The Planet Smashers on my show! The Planet Smashers have been around for over 30 years and even my band Sum 41 have opened for them in the late 90’s. Matt also owns a record label called Stomp records which has put out many great records its also 30 year existence….. Lots of stories in this one including the time Matt broke his neck on stage….. This one is not to be missed!

I’m very excited about my show this week as I have a 70’s Punk Legend on the show! When people talk about 70’s era NYC punk the bands that often get mentioned are The Ramones, Blondie, Television, New York Dolls, Dead Boys (even though they weren’t from NYC), The Voidoids, The Heartbreakers and on and on. Fair enough, all great bands but there are others that don’t get the juice they deserve and this week you’re going to hear my conversation with the singer for one of those bands that deserves more recognition. I have Sonny Vincent from The Testors on the show! The Testors were highly influential in that scene but never released an album back in those days. Their lives shows were deadly though and now they are releasing old recordings of their music. This week you are gonna hear first hand of what that time was like back at CBGB’s and Max’s Kansas City in the 70’s during the NYC punk movement! I’m very excited and so should you!

This week I have fellow Canadians Luke + Kyle from The Dirty Nil on my show! This is a hard working band doing things the right way as I like to say. Touring non stop, building a following for the ground up all the while having kick ass songs along the way. We talk about Canadian bands touring the US, we talk their public search for a new bass player, we talk about the grind of staying together as a band every though you come across things that may make you want to throw in the towel, we talk about their brand new album. This is a very introspective chat--tune in this week, its a good one!

This week I have a very funny and very insightful guest on my show. I have Michael Bishop better known as Blothar The Berserker from the legendary and infamous rock band Gwar! He is the singer and front man of the band and twice in the 80’s and 90’s he was the bass player. Gwar have been entertaining the world with their costumes, songs and wild live shows since 1984 and now you will get peak into what goes into the inter-workings behind the scenes of Gwar! Don’t miss this one music fans, this one will be one to remember!

This week Season 8 Ep 3 I show you a conversation with a Punk veteran…… I have the frontman and singer of Fat Wreck Chords band Good Riddance on the show! I have Russ Rankin this week! We talk about everything from getting signed to Fat to becoming a vegan to becoming straight edge to how he felt about the commercialization of punk in 1994 to his other career as a minor league hockey scout and a lot more! If you are into the Fat Wreck Chrods punk scene and just punk rock in general you want to tune into this very insightful episode with Russ…. This is a good one!

I’m back! Season 8! Last season I ended it with a punk legend in Dez Cadena so I thought its only fitting that I start this season with another punk legend in Kid Congo Powers who has played in such bands as The Cramps, The Gun Club, Nick Cave + The Bad Seeds to name a few…… This was a really great talk and if you are into the history of punk ala 1970’s then this one is definitely for you! You don’t get to hear too many conversations about 70’s punk from guys who were actually there and in it… I bring you that this week!

Well this week I have Dez Cadena on the show who sang for Black Flag for a number of years in the 80’s and also played guitar for Black Flag for years to come. He also played guitar for The Misfits for over 10 years. Both very influential bands and Ben is a very influential guitar player.
