Confessed Obsessed

War is a scary thing. People go out every day to fight for their country, and they come home a different person, but some people don't get to decide if they see war, some people are taken from their homes and forced into a situation they never wanted to be in. The story of Betty Lalam starts off as a heartbreaking scary story of a 14 year old, but ends in a success story for many. 

As parents we wish it was possible to monitor our child's every move, make sure they are always safe and never subjected to the evils in life, but that's just not the case. Our children are always at risk of running into the evils before they are even aware of what they are. That's the case of today's story, Elliot grew up watching a TV show, one that his parents were unaware he was watching, and somehow, out of pure luck he managed to dodge a bullet. But as he grew older and older, he found himself wondering what would have happened, if he would have ever met Mr Bear. 

In the eyes of a child Easter is a joyous holiday. Filled with candy and chocolate bunnies, but for one small family, that was not the case. They would spend their morning with the people they loved the most, hunting eggs and playing games, but when the night would begin to wrap up and they would begin to get ready to leave, it would change into a nightmare. One that stains the home to this day.

A lot of people hear something that's too good to be true, and fall for it. Like a phone call from your sister in prison states away, or a doctor giving out free house calls. After all it could sound just as convincing as some of those scams. But what happens when this free house call takes a turn for the worse, and instead of just checking blood pressure, this doctor also begins administering drugs to you. Today we talk about the doctor that gave out free house calls, but instead of saving lives, he was ending them.

It is a terrible feeling when you have to wait to get answers about how a loved one died, the longer the wait, the worse the feeling. Lucky in the case of Helen Meylers, her family was able to get an answer, even if it took four decades to get to them. Today we talk about the solved Cold Case of Helen Meylers. 

Anger leads to a lot of things, it's always terrifying when anger is the leading reason for a mental break in somebody's thought process. Jack Richard would not only have a work accident that would lead to his employment termination, but it would lead to him stalking and murdering some of the people that worked there, all out of anger.

Teen pregnancy has always been frowned upon, people like to hold blame and guilt others for a simple mistake that I’m sure most of us have risked before. The story of the Trauco almost seems like one that was created in order to help explain teen pregnancy, and to take some guilt away from the young woman. Nonetheless, the story of the Trauco is not a pretty one, and we are about to share it today.

We are living in a pandemic now, we have seen first hand what sickness can do to not only the person who is sick, but the society that surrounds us. And as many of you know, this is not the first time a sickness has swept through and changed the lives of the many people affected. Because in 1917 society would be introduced to an unknown sickness, one that left the people affected, staring at the world through an unmovable body.
