It’s Black History Month and we are celebrating everything Black! Our recognition of Black culture, Black traditions and Black History is not singularly focused to the month of February, but during this month, we put an additional spotlight on the rich, beautiful and timeless heritage of the Black race. However, Black History is not just put on display for those who are Black because Black History is a shared history. Our experiences represent a shared story for which we all play a role; and the only way for us to forge a path forward is for us to recognize Black History as OUR History. So let’s honor those who have come before us, let’s celebrate what it means to be Black and together, let’s continue to write a story that includes everyone!
