Scarcity mindset: the belief that there are finite and limited resources and giving anyone anything is at the sole expense of what you will receive.

Scarcity mindset = one of the biggest things holding people back from reaching their potential.

If you are starting a law firm or you own a law firm and you're worried about the competition you've GOT IT ALL WRONG. You are your biggest competition. Everyone else is a distraction.

Why? Three reasons.

First, there's a big enough pie for everyone to eat as much as they want.

Second, most people aren't going to actually do anything once you tell them how much work it takes.

And third, they can't replicate you.

Now go kill it.

Going to a lunch full of other business owners and saying hello and making small talk all the while hoping the other person sends you business.

Reaching out to people randomly and having coffee hoping they are cool.

It's just not that much fun for me.

So I've been trying to come up with some ways that actually ARE fun for me, that can create real connection, and that are even entertaining to other people (icing on the cake).

This is my favorite time of the year as a law firm owner. The 3rd quarter is ending, which means there's another opportunity to reset your goals and get out there taking care of business.

I'm not setting my law firm goals like I used to. No longer am I following the usual goal setting method of picking an arbitrary number out of the air and backing into it.

Nope. This time I'm doing something different. I'm doing something that actually MATTERS to me.
