  • Discovering Your Worth, Knowing Your Identity, and Having Fun on TikTok.

Your self-worth is a function of how much we value ourselves. So many moms are unaware of their self-worth and have never stopped considering if they believe they deserve what they desire to create or accomplish in their lives. Our self-worth can be rooted in our own perceptions of ourselves, often attributed to present or past traumas, anxiety, or other perceptions we create. However, they should be rooted in our God-given identity, knowing and embracing who He says we are.

In today's episode, my special guest Hillary Ramos and I discuss discovering your worth despite anxiety, realizing our true identity, and of course, we had to talk about TikTok!

Hillary talks to us about the pandemic and how it was honestly the turning point in her whole story. She shares for her because pre-COVID, She is a wife and mom extremely burnt out to the max. Her husband was constantly traveling, she was working five days a week, and their son was in daycare more than he was at home. So when everything came to this abrupt halt due to the pandemic, and all three of us were home, we suddenly realized how much simplification we needed to do.

Hillary Ramos is a wife, a mom (a new stay-at-home mom, actually), a former pediatric physical therapist, and a brand new writer and creator. She has been married to my husband, Josh, for 5 years, and they have one 3-year-old little boy named Liam.

Fun fact: she and her husband went to high school together (we graduated a year apart), but they did not meet until college! They met at a summer job entirely randomly, and the rest is history.

  • Don't let the waves of your emotions doubt the faithfulness of your God

If you are tempted to look at the world and want to run wait! Our thinking and our journey are in the hands of our Lord. Feel, hurt, and see what's going on! Own your feelings but keep going because God is still on the throne.

One of my favorite moments and a time of Jesus Tiffany and I talk about is Matthew 26:36-44
    Jesus Prays in Gethsemane
Then Jesus went with them to a place called Gethsemane, and he said to his disciples, “Sit here, while I go over there and pray.”  And taking with him Peter and the two sons of Zebedee, he began to be sorrowful and troubled.  Then he said to them, “My soul is very sorrowful, even to death; remain here, and watch with me.”  And going a little farther he fell on his face and prayed, saying, “My Father, if it is possible, let this cup pass from me; nevertheless, not as I will, but as you will.” And he came to the disciples and found them sleeping. And he said to Peter, “So, could you not watch with me one hour? Watch and pray that you may not enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.”  Again, for the second time, he went away and prayed, “My Father, if this cannot pass unless I drink it, your will be done.”  And again he came and found them sleeping, for their eyes were heavy. So, leaving them again, he went away and prayed for the third time, saying the same words again.

Jesus wanted to burden taken away while still saying if it's your will. Jesus felt the burden of his destiny but still got back up to honor the will and obedience of Christ. It's okay not to feel okay but it's not okay to stay there.

  • God In the sunflowers.
Life can be relentless. Sometimes we go through things that we can’t explain. And the normal person would want to blame God. I’m speaking to a young lady whose first experience in the motherhood was everything difficult and nothing she pictured. But she knew God was present when she went through some of the hardest things that she would ever have to experience bringing a child into the world. You’re going to hear from Adrianne Rogers sharing her story of hardship and difficulty as her child suffered a heart defect and having to go through a journey nobody was prepared for. But God was faithful all the way.

  • Get to know your host.
I talked about my childhood but I didn’t get to tell you my heart and the real growth and purpose in my pain. I’m so honored to share this with you and hope you can laugh, be encouraged and find joy knowing your not alone and God meets us wherever we are. The lord uses people around us to reach us and guide us to him. If you feel ashamed, alone, like you don’t belong or even if you don’t understand your purpose God is still the same and he is with you every step of the way.

  • Marriage, parenting and keeping it going with the pandemic going on in world.

Readjusting is hard but readjusting your whole life when the world shuts down is even harder.

Doug and I talk about how we are handling the pandemic going on in the world. How to find laughter and joy in every moment. And getting real about the struggles that come with all the adjusting with our kids and our marriage.

We talk about tips and how to homeschool and bring that into your home and use your home as an opportunity to teach. Our homes are a place for our families to shut down. So how do you adjust that when you have to teach your kids? We talk about that. We also talk about how I believe that this is a time and an opportunity for God to re-invent the family of God. To bring us back to simplicity, connection, and intimacy and how we should embrace all the new change because God is good.
