The WPAL DuBois Fitness Center presents “Terror at the Tannery” at the DuBois Country Club on Friday, Oct. 25 from 8 p.m. to 1 a.m.! Tickets are $25 per person or $40 per couple.

Although this is an adults-only event, it benefits the WPAL After School Fit Club for kids.

Prizes will be given for Best Costume, Best Couple’s Costume, and Best Group Theme. Tantalize your senses in the Mad Scientist’s Laboratory, or compete for prizes in the scavenger hunt.

There will be a 50/50 and basket raffle along with other games and prizes!

Clearfield County District Attorney, William A. Shaw, Jr., announced today that charges have been filed against three men for the unlawful shooting of two dogs and related charges.

Shaw identified the Defendants as: 1) William Cochran, age 33, of Coalport, Pennsylvania; 2) James Potts, age 18, of Fallentimber, Pennsylvania; and 3) Joseph Brown, age 23, of Fallentimber, Pennsylvania.

On October 21, 2019, Trooper Matthew Peacock, of the Pennsylvania State Police, Woodland Barracks filed Criminal Complaints charging Potts with: 1) Aggravated Cruelty to Animals, F3; 2) Terroristic Threats, M1; 3) Simple Assault, M2; 4) Recklessly Endangering Another Person, M2; 5) Intimidation of Witness, M2; 6) Cruelty to Animals, M2; and 7) Criminal Conspiracy to Commit these Offenses.

Dr. Brigette Matson has started her role as the new assistant superintendent at the DuBois Area School District, filling the space left open when Wendy Benton stepped into the superintendent position.

Two local kids got a big surprise when a pink fire truck came to visit them from the other side of the state. 7-year-old Lyndsay and 11-year-old Brayden are both battling cancer.

Matt Strouse from the Punxsutawney Fire Department asked the non-profit group Pink Heals to drive their brightly colored truck from Easton, PA to Punxsutawney on Saturday.

Eight of our local fire departments met the pink trunk in Big Run and escorted the truck to the Lindsey Fire Hall in Punxsutawney, where the kids were waiting.

Christine Fox, Lyndsay's mom, said the kids loved it.
