This Sunday, people will line the streets of DuBois in prayer as they show their support for unborn babies.

The 27th annual DuBois Area Life Chain will start on Sunday at the Edward V. Cherry Amphitheatre in the DuBois City Park at 2:30.

If you want to take part in it, please show up at the DuBois City Park no later than 2:15 on Sunday afternoon. People will be given signs and line up along Liberty Boulevard and DuBois Avenue for about an hour.

Afterwards, starting at 3:45, Kevin Burke of Rachel’s Vineyard Ministries will speak about how he says families are affected after abortions and the guilt that people might feel.

Brookville Council wants some residents to clean up their act. Council members are trying to address some of the blighted properties within Brookville Borough. Reporter John Pozza has more.

Code enforcement officer Don Jonischek said several properties throughout the borough are being inspected for safety violations and high grass.

Council has formed a new ad hoc residential maintenance committee to address the issue throughout the borough and recommend further action. The area of East Main Street will be one of the first sections targeted.

Lawmakers gathered in Harrisburg recently to talk about how to prevent one of the ultimate tragedies… someone taking their own life.

The organization Prevent Suicide PA hosted “Suicide Prevention and Awareness Day” at the State Capitol. Suicide prevention advocates, survivors, suicide task forces, legislators, and mental health professionals gathered in the Capitol Rotunda to raise awareness for suicide prevention and offer hope for those who might be contemplating suicide.

Senator Tina Tartaglione and other speakers asked people to become aware of friends, relatives or loved ones who might be troubled or suffering from depression or mental illness, and to listen to them.

The Winery at Wilcox is unveiling a new wine, with part of the proceeds going to Penn Highlands Heart Center.

You can get a free sample of the new wine during their DuBois Chamber after-hour event at the Winery at Wilcox in the DuBois Mall from 5 until 7 p.m. this Thursday, Oct. 4. Chamber members are encouraged to go, but the event is also open to the public.
