There's one group of people whose taxes will always be more complicated than yours… professional baseball players.

Professional baseball players – and even umpires – have to deal with filing income tax in 10, 12 or more states. Because of the way the MLB schedule works, some teams play in fewer states than others and will therefore have an easier tax filing experience.

This is National Retirement Planning Week, an effort by consumer advocates, educators and financial-service organizations to promote comprehensive retirement planning.

However, according to Cathy Weatherford, president and chief executive of the Insured Retirement Institute, 42 percent of Baby Boomers have no retirement savings at all. Still, there are things they can do to prepare for the future.

Dorothy is played with senior Becca Liddle, who journeys to the Land of Oz and tries to get back home to Kansas. Along the way, she meets the Scarecrow, played by senior Raquel Salada. Next, they're joined by the Tin Man, played by Logan Clancy. Lastly, the Cowardly Lion joins the journey, played by Jack Volpe.

In addition to the human actors, this year's play includes live animals. Chickens are in the scenes at the farm in Kansas, and Becca's sister's dog, Daisy Mae, plays Toto.

The classic story of the Wizard of Oz will be performed Friday, April 6 and Saturday, April 7, both at 7 p.m. There is also a Sunday matinee at 2 p.m.

Congratulations to Hannah Deitch, of DuBois Christian School! Hannah is currently in 10th grade and is ALWAYS on Honor Roll. She plays a hard defense on her school basketball team and enjoys reading post-apocalyptic novels ( because who doesn't love a good zombie novel!!! )

Hannah is an incredible young woman who focuses on those who have served. She is responsible for a local Socks for Troops program and even convinced her classmates to write Christmas cards to a local veteran in need of some kind words.

Foreign exchange students who have been spending a month in Brockway will be heading back home to Germany soon. Hear their story, the way the program was started, some of the surprising things they've learned, and some of the differences and similarities between Germany and the United States.

Nicola Kampe and Till Teichmann are part of what is called the GAPP (German American Partnership Program) program, which was started in 2011 in Brockway.

Students from Hann. Munden, Germany can come to America for a month in spring, and our local students have the option of going there in summer.
