  • #19 The power of slowing down: mindful parenting tips

    Send us Fan Mail

Have you ever experienced going into autopilot mode when you're doing many things, and suddenly you realize that you don't even know where the time went?

When we're like that, it's impossible to be present, and if we're not present, we can't connect with anyone around us, especially with our children - who come to ask us for something at the exact moment, and our speed sometimes doesn't even let us hear them!

Going slower is one of the things I've set out to do since I became a mom, precisely as a tool to help me be more present.

It's not always easy, in fact, I would say it's quite hard to achieve, but there are small things that can help us.

In this episode, I share some of the things that have personally helped me, along with a reflection on the importance of going slower.

    I hope you enjoy it!

    Send us Fan Mail

    Send us Fan Mail

  • #18 Three ways I’m focusing on connecting more with my kids this year

    Send us Fan Mail

When we think about the goals we want to achieve in a year, it's easy to get overwhelmed with so many different things: books we want to read, places we want to go, personal projects, habits... Instead, I like to imagine first what I would like to FEEL at the end of a year; then it's easy to put my intentions towards that in order.

In this episode, I share with you the three main things I want to focus on in 2024 in order to work on connecting with my kids and to keep building a strong and healthy relationship with them.

This is part of a masterclass I held at the end of last year and that I will be doing again on the 11th of March this year. If you want to register, please visit the link below - it is free and it will be recorded in case you can't make it.

  • #17 Kids, gaming & family rules: balancing fun and connection

    Send us Fan Mail

'Mom, all my friends are talking about Minecraft, except me,' that's how we started with video games when Matías was almost 7 years old.

In the quest to find a balance between addressing the topic of screens in a healthy and conscious manner and, at the same time, helping our children in their social dynamics, we found ourselves compelled to say yes. That's how this journey began, which, for better or worse, has become an important part of our home.

Since then, I have been researching and learning ways to handle the gaming at home in a way that they enjoy it but that it doesn't prevent them to enjoy and do other things too.

In this episode, I share the codes we have established from the beginning, talk about the importance of our assertiveness, and discuss how the balance between saying yes and maintaining it consciously looks today.

Additionally, I've created a digital guide for you with (message me and I will send it to you).

  • #17 Video juegos: buscando balance entre reglas y diversión

    Send us Fan Mail

    Send us Fan Mail

    Gracias por escucharme!

  • #16 A simple parenting tool you might be overlooking

    Send us Fan Mail

I have been wanting to talk about this for a while, and something that happened this morning with my 9-year-old motivated me to record this episode!

Since our kids are little babies, we learn to predict what's going to happen: how many diapers will I need? How much food should we bring?... We start anticipating what is going to happen in order to prepare ourselves.

What we sometimes forget is how POWERFUL it can be not only to prepare for practical things but for situations and behaviours and that we can also help our kids learn to anticipate and prepare themselves for situations too!

This is such a powerful tool that we all use but sometimes don't use to its maximum potential.

In this episode, with a few practical examples, I explain all the different ways you can use it in the everyday and how it can help in your family's everyday dynamics, from sibling conflicts to morning routines.

I hope you find it useful. If you do, please remember to share this episode with a friend who might enjoy it too! ❤️

    Thank you for listening.

  • #15 Prioritising the relationship: building strong bonds with your kids

    Send us Fan Mail

I recorded a special episode about connection to celebrate the first 1,000 downloads of my podcast!

The relationship we are building with our children will last forever; everything else passes... Diapers, breastfeeding, sleepless nights, school, challenges with friendships... But our relationship with them is what truly lasts forever.

Have you ever thought about it?

In this episode, I tell you why I believe that connection should be the foundation of that relationship, what "connecting" really means, and what the first step is to achieve it.

I would love to hear your thoughts. You can connect with me on social media @connection_first or via email at [email protected].

    Send us Fan Mail
