“I would definitely say use this time to really reflect on your own habits with money. This is a time more than ever to take ownership of your life, your business, your career, what you're wanting to do, including your finances. Like look at how detrimental it was to have your main source of income taken away. What can you do as a responsible human being to make sure that that doesn't happen again?"
Today on the Fierce as F*ck Podcast, I am sharing another interview from the Connection Thru Chaos Series, this time with Paige Cole. Paige is a Stripper Business Coach who teaches stripper entrepreneurs to maximize their hustle inside and outside of the club. She employs a unique coaching approach that incorporates spiritual and scientific principles of money and manifestation.
The week when the pandemic unfolded was hectic for Paige. She had just launched her reality-show-themed channel on YouTube and had more than a few appointments and travel plans set up for April and May. On March 17 in California, the order to shut down all non-essential businesses was implemented and was to take effect until March 30. Things kept escalating and although there wasn’t any official announcement at the time, rumors started buzzing that the community quarantine was going to be extended through April.
Paige shares about how she doesn’t pay attention to the news and instead builds a little bubble of her own world because there’s too much negativity. She also shares the aspect of life that feels most triggering to her: the way some people are exaggerating the situation and over-responding out of fear. Paige understands it’s important to be aware of what’s going on, but she isn’t overly cautious like her family.
Paige’s way of dealing with the present situation includes putting up boundaries with other people, sometimes including her family. One important way Paige put up boundaries was returning to her own house - instead of quarantining with family - so she could isolate in her own “abundant bubble.”
Like many others’, Paige’s business is also affected by the ongoing crisis. However, Paige feels fortunate to still have an income coming in because of her online business and believes now is a great time for people to consider creating multiple streams of income so that they can be better financially prepared in case something like this ever happens again.
So if you’re in a shitty position right now, let yourself feel those emotions and how much it sucks. But also know that you’re not going to be in that position forever, especially if you choose to prepare and educate yourself right now from a place of self-love instead of desperation or scarcity.
“I've been there, I fucked up, I've had tons of money saved and spent it all. I've racked up the credit. I have been there, done that. The only thing that you can do is to start educating yourself and then just start changing your behavior around finances. With finances, it's 20% knowledge and 80% behavior.”
