🚨 The entire AI industry just got a new set of rules, and most people missed it.

Yesterday at GTC 2026 in San Jose, Jensen Huang walked out on stage and announced NVIDIA expects $1 TRILLION in AI chip revenue through 2027. That's double what it was last year. Microsoft, Meta, Google, Amazon, all standing in line.

But the headlines don't stop there:

🚗 Uber and NVIDIA just partnered to launch fully autonomous robotaxis in 28 cities across four continents, starting in LA and San Francisco in 2027. Not "someday." Next year.

🧠 Mistral dropped an open source model, Mistral Small 4, that beat GPT o1 on coding benchmarks while using 20% less output. 119 billion parameters. Open source. Free to use commercially. One toggle between speed and depth. If you're paying per token for a closed AI model, your math just changed.

⚠️ And the story that matters most today: Three teenage girls in Tennessee just filed a class action lawsuit against Elon Musk's xAI. Their school photos were turned into sexually explicit AI-generated images and shared across Discord and Telegram. Grok generated roughly 3 million sexualized images in 11 days, an estimated 23,000 depicting children. 190 images per minute.

Most people look at the threat. That's why they miss.

On the range, under real pressure, your eyes go to the target, the scary thing, and your shot goes wide. The only way you hit what you're aiming at is to pull your eyes back, sharp front sight, everything else blurry.

That's exactly where we are with AI right now.

This week the headlines were loud, the numbers were massive, and almost everybody was looking at the wrong thing. In this episode we cut through it and find the front sight on four stories that actually matter.

What we cover:

The Great Divorce, Anthropic vs. the Department of Defense. The DOD designated Anthropic a supply chain risk and federal agencies were directed to phase Claude out. Why? Because Anthropic refused to allow mass domestic surveillance of American citizens and refused to let AI pull the trigger without a human in the loop. The lesson isn't political, it's practical. If your entire operation runs on one platform, one vendor, one tool, you are one government contract away from losing everything. Build model-agnostic. Stay capable of switching. That's the move.

Nvidia Vera Rubin and What Cheap AI Actually Means. Training frontier AI models just got 10 times cheaper than it was 12 months ago. Google Gemini 2.0 Pro costs 50 times less per token than the same reasoning tier did in 2024. Intelligence is becoming a utility, like water, like electricity. Most people hear "cheaper AI" and think they'll use more of it. That's not the front sight. When everyone has access to a 160 IQ assistant for the price of a cup of coffee, knowing things stops being a competitive advantage. Execution, judgment, character, and trust, that's where the value lives now.

AI Is Already Inside Your Phone. Samsung is rolling Gemini agentic AI to 800 million devices. This isn't a chatbot update. Agentic means the AI does things on your behalf without you in the room. This week's practical move: go to your phone settings right now and find out what your AI assistant actually has access to. Email. Calendar. Contacts. Location. Purchase history. Most people clicked "allow all" and walked away. That's loading a firearm, setting it on the counter, and leaving the room. Know your tools. Maintain the human in the loop. That's not paranoia, that's operational discipline.

The Lawsuit Against Google Nobody Is Talking About Correctly. A father is in court. His son Jonathan is dead. The allegation: Google's Gemini maintained engagement while his son's mental state deteriorated, treating his psychosis as plot development because the system was built to keep users talking. If someone in your life is struggling, do not point them to an AI chatbot. These tools have not earned that level of trust. Not yet.

The week was loud. The fear is real. But fear is exactly what takes your eyes off the front sight.
