Did you miss us?! Well, we’re back, and hopefully with some topics that will get the community chiming in. First, we get into the Ryan Clark and Robert Griffin III saga. After suggesting that Angel Reese hates Caitlin Clark in a basketball context, Ryan Clark countered by suggesting that because he has a white wife, RGIII is not qualified to speak in this manner. RGIII responded by saying Clark crossed the line, and Clark later apologized. We discuss this back-and-forth, and whether either side has any merit. On a lighter note, Latto is clapping back at critics who take issue with her rapping about her supposed low body count. Many don’t believe her, but she doesn’t seem to care. Do you believe her? Plus, A.J. Brown offered up some words of wisdom to a group of youth, during which he made some interesting comments about NFL player’s propensities for objectifying women, consuming p*rn, and how money exacerbates these habits. Is he making sense? We also talk about Google’s Veo 3 AI application and the scary waves it’s making, Travis Hunter getting married to his girlfriend without signing a prenup, and Bhad Bhabie who is defending herself against the idea that she is a cultural appropriator.
Amber Rose is standing ten toes down on her assertion that she is an African queen, saying that all human beings are African because humans originated in Africa. Folks online are calling her out, but she says she doesn’t care. Does she have a point? In other interesting stories, top professional video game player NoahTheProdigy is speaking on his experience, saying that his dad encouraged him to ignore school in pursuit of what turned out to be a career as a gamer. Was telling him to ignore school smart, or a matter of luck? Plus, Charles Barkley went a little viral during a recent episode of “Inside the NBA” for calling men in fraternities a bunch of losers. Is he right? We also talk about the Dallas Mavericks acquiring the No. 1 pick in this year’s NBA Draft, Skip Bayless calling Tom Brady a liar for denying any involvement in affecting Shedder Sander’s draft stock, and the internet starting to get a little frustrated with the way some women dress at the gym, accusing them of looking for attention.
Everyone has an opinion on marriage these days, and Paul Pierce is no different, lamenting that marriage is only for the poor and the old, and that there is no upside to marriage for men. More marriage talk for us to digest, and we get into it. Elsewhere, A$AP Rocky has admitted to wearing Rihanna’s clothing. Furthermore, he doesn’t see the issue with it and doesn’t necessarily agree with the notion of masculine and feminine norms, particularly when it comes to forms of dress. We offer up our takes on what he had to say. Plus, Bow Wow opened up to Shannon Sharpe on Club Shay Shay and spoke on his experience with being caught fake flexing when he posted that he was traveling via private jet when he was actually flying commercial. He says he isn’t the only one who has fallen victim to feeling the need to embellish his lifestyle, but what is the deal with the fake flex in general? We also discuss Candace Owens calling out T.I. for being a fraud who is actually conservative despite his public rhetoric, Michelle Obama speaking on the challenges of transitioning to the next phase of her life, and a Waka Flocka concert being engulfed in controversy after a man wearing a swastika shirt took the stage.
Shedeur Sanders being drafted in the 5th round of the NFL Draft was crazy and had all sorts of things going on, including talks of collusion and a prank being played on him by the son of an NFL GM who pretended to be a part of the New Orleans Saints and draft him. We couldn’t pass up speaking on it ourselves. There were also some interesting comments made by Ari Lennox, who gave fans a glimpse into her personal life by expounding on experimenting with dating women. She says she gave it a try, but ultimately couldn’t do it and went back to doing what she knows: dating men. At the risk of getting a bit controversial, we give our thoughts on what she said and testing the gender waters of dating. Plus, Diddy’s defense is gearing up for a mighty test when his trial begins May 12, and part of that defense involves the claim that Diddy isn’t a creep, but he is a swinger. Is being a swinger a legit defense? We also talk about 50 Cent once again being a troll, this time toward Beyonce because of low Cowboy Carter ticket sales, Brittany Renner’s old comments about not wanting to date Muslim men resurfacing in the wake of her apparent relationship with Kevin Gates, and madness as the Minecraft movie is set to hold block party theater screenings despite a whole lot of pandemonium and popcorn throwing by audiences at theaters to see the movie.
Tracee Ellis Ross hopped onto Michelle Obama’s podcast and they got a little into her personal life, including her revelation that she prefers to date younger men because men her age have beliefs on relationships that amount to toxic masculinity. She says younger men aren’t as stoked in the old toxic ways. Do you agree with her? On the music front, Akon is on the verge of dripping out the start of what will be his entire catalog re-recorded as country music complete with star country collaborations. Is this a good look for Akon, and what can it signify for the perception of black music? Plus, there is some drama brewing with the Jay-Z-backed Roc Nation School of Music, Sports & Entertainment at Long Island University (LIU) Brooklyn, with many people saying they were sold a fake bag of goods when the school promised them a “debt-free education” when in fact they still incurred debt because the school merely offered them a tuition-free education. Many feel swindled. Should the school be held accountability for falsely misleading people into thinking they’d go through school completely debt-free? What are the ramifications of this? We also discuss Shannon Sharpe revealing explicit text messages to vindicate himself after being accused of sexual assault, DeMar Derozan getting into a scuffle at a restaurant with a man who tried to record him without permission, and A.J. Brown responding on social media to his car being stolen.
Isiah Thomas unmuted during a segment of NBA TV when viewing LeBron James warming up before a game shirtless, saying that professionalism in the NBA has gone down and he wouldn’t have a problem with LeBron being fined for displaying said lack of professionalism. Does he have a point, and does this extend beyond the NBA to everyday life? Also, Ne-Yo is commenting further on the parameters of his polyamorous relationship, saying that while he doesn’t force anyone into anything, he is the only man in his setup. His girlfriends cannot see other men. Is this reasonable? Plus, Kash Doll is going viral for all of the wrong reasons, recording a video of herself pretending to wipe her nose with a $20 bill at an NBA game. While clearly a flex attempt, she is being roasted for all of the reasons you’d suspect. Is she getting what she deserves? We also talk about college football’s evolving landscape amid the fallout of QB Nico Nico Iamaleava leaving Tennessee after asking for more money and Marcus Freeman’s response, the similarities between Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 and the current US-China trade war, and the hoopla over the all-female Blue Origins space mission.
Friends and countrymen (and women), we are back with another stream to discuss a sorted array of topics, including the baby momma of Lil’ Baby and Anthony Edwards essentially saying don’t blame her for being beautiful and having a nice body. This in response to folks who claim that she gets pregnant to bag-chase. Does she have a point? We also have Barack Obama illuminating us on rough patches his marriage with Michelle Obama sustained while he was President, saying he is in ‘deep deficit’ with her and not being in the White House helps facilitate him mending fences with her. Plus, Joe Budden had some interesting things to say about everyone’s favorite lighting rod, Sexyy Red, and how her attempt to code switch via a Bruno Mars song that bombed, and her subsequent reversion to her old sound via the new song “Hoochie Coochie”, displays her feeding the black audience degenerate music as a way to return to form because that’s what our community wants to hear. Does Budden make sense? We also have more Usher concert reaction with yet another woman being caught in the rapture of his cherry seduction and actually having to clarify that she is single to avoid drama; Angel Reese going off on people who have critiques for her Chrisean Rock podcast feature; and Peter Rosenberg responding to DJ Vlad taking shots at him for having a seemingly underwhelming career.
LeBron James has made a lot of noise lately, and in addition to his spat with Stephen A. Smith, he also hinted during his interview with Pat McAfee that he doesn’t know how some of his Cleveland teams made the Finals given who was on the roster with him, echoing what a lot in the media say as well. We give our thoughts on these comments. Also, Waka Flocka was recently given a scenario and asked to answer the question: who would he save from dying if he could only save either his wife or child if they both fell overboard a boat. He didn’t hesitate to choose his wife, and social media went nuts. We give our takes on his response. Plus, Sean Kingston is down bad with him and his mother facing decades in prison after a wire fraud conviction. We discuss this ugly situation. We also get into the church service that went crazy viral after gospel star Marvin Sapp had to clear the air when folks suggested that he was forcing a congregation to donate after telling ushers to “close the doors” at a church convention that took place last year; Terrence Howard challenging science for resisting his ideas and his plan to take his technology to build a new society like Atlantis; and whether an outfit worn by Erykah Badu during a recent performance was making an elaborate sociopolitical statement about the objectification of black women’s bodies, or simply making fun of BBL culture.
How many times do you permit cheating in a relationship before the final straw and you leave? According to Yung Miami, a man has about four times to cheat before she considers leaving, suggesting that cheating isn’t the clear-cut thing that it’s sometimes made out to be and that it is hard to leave when you’ve built something with a person, even when cheating occurs. Do you concur with this idea? Music producer Timbaland is also unmuting to discuss how he feels about current music, suggesting that today’s music is bland and boring. What’s more, he attributes that blandness and boringness to the election and general divineness while also saying that AI is the only thing with a pure soul in music. Is he nuts or onto something? Plus, a Reddit thread in which Millennials express outlooks for their financial futures and retirement has gone viral because of its bleak tone. Millennials are not too positive when it comes to their ability to retire in comfort in the future, with many of them believing they will work right up until death, among other things. What can we do to fix this sentiment? We also talk about an Onlyfans content creator who has been charged with second-degree murder because of a kinky filming session with a subscriber that turned deadly, DJ Khaled, City Girls, Trick Daddy, and Trina, all notable Miami-based artists, being honored with streets named after them in Miami, and actress Phylicia Rashad’s take on the way women dress today and how it is absent of grace. Do you agree with her?
Anthony Mackie has been making the rounds after the release of the new Captain America movie, and he stopped by The Pivot podcast to discuss a myriad of topics. Among them is his belief that we tell kids lies when we explain to them that if they make the grades and work hard, they'll be successful, when in reality, success is not earned, but given. He argues we should set the record straight with kids so they understand that hard work doesn't secure success. Do you agree with his take? We also touch on Luigi Mangione, the man who is alleged to have un-alived UnitedHealthCare CEO Brian Thompson, and the fact that his defense fund is close to $730,000 after someone anonymously donated $36,500 to support the effort. What do you make of the sizable amount of public support being afforded to him? Plus, Jamie Foxx has a message for folks who are anti-DEI: if you don't like the idea of DEI, then "give us our stuff back," suggesting that if DEI is such an issue, then the world should stop participating in and making money off of Black exploits and return them to their rightful owners. Do you agree with this? Additionally, we also give our two-cents on Angel Reese's continued shade towards the WNBA and it's salary structure in lieu of winning $50K as part of the Unrivaled league, the baton track-and-field incident heard round the world with Virginia high school athlete Alaila Everett and efforts being made to defend her character, and audio of Jonathan Majors admitting to aggressing his ex-girlfriend being made public.
