  • 12/31/24: Trump Saving Tik Tok? Tina Knowles Defends Beyonce; DDG Buys Son a Ferrari

As the fate of Tik Tok looms in the balance, Donald Trump’s second administration could be the app’s saving grace as he has requested that the Supreme Court’s ban be delayed in an effort to seek a political solution. Are these points in Trump’s favor before he even takes office? There has also been a little noise in the aftermath of Beyonce’s performance during half time of the Ravens vs. Texans game on Christmas day. Some people didn’t think too highly of the performance, and Beyonce’s mother Tina had some words for the haters, suggesting that no matter how great you are, there will always be detractors, so you should just do what you do. Does Tina have a point? Lastly, friend of the channel DDG is one again the subject of conversation after buying his one-year-old son a Ferrari. With many suggesting it’s a wasteful way to bestow his son with a gift given he can’t drive, and won’t be able to for some time, DDG is predictable doubling down on the decision, saying folks are just mad because his son is already ahead of where they are and they need to just work harder. We try to make sense of his logic. We also discuss rapper Finesse2Tymes beefing with an artist aged 12 who is being reported as his son, Charleston White saying Angel Reese wants to sell sex and not play basketball, and Joe Budden being charged with lewdness for walking around his apartment building naked.

  • 12/24/24: Fat Joe on FBAs; Dame Dash on Jay-Z; 50 Cent Scolds Female Rappers

Merry Christmas Eve to everyone out there! This week, we discuss our thoughts on Fat Joe slamming the organization of Foundational Black Americans as “Black racists” for trying to assert that Blacks and Puerto Ricans did not share a hand in creating hip-hop, something Fat Joe believes to be true. Is he right to label FBAs as Black racists, or do FBAs have a point that hip-hop was solely created by Blacks? We also touch on Dame Dash’s thoughts on Jay-Z’s current legal issues, saying that the white media has turned on him and that the Black media isn’t enough to keep him in the good graces of public opinion. Does he have a point? Plus, 50 Cent had some interesting words for the state of female rap, saying that their hyper sexual content is keeping them in a particular box and that the trend can be potentially damaging to girls who listen to today’s top female rappers and consider them role models. Do you agree with 50, or should he take a seat? We also discuss Young Thug's jail call with an ex-flame, continuation of the ongoing commentary around Travis Hunter's relationship, and the declining ratings and popularity of the NBA.

  • 12/17/24: Usher Opens Creator Studio; Chris Brown Crushes South Africa; Jason Kelce Doesn't Babysit

Usher has opened a content studio to help foster creativity and artistic talents and endeavors for youth at a Boys & Girls Club in Atlanta. This falls right in line with our belief of what is the right way to help close the wealth gap for the underprivileged, so we get into our thoughts on this development. We also discuss Chris Brown crushing his performance in South Africa despite a petition that was started to ban him from performing there due to his past problems with domestic violence. What does his victory say about these types of causes? Lastly, we discuss a little internet backlash being hurled toward Jason Kelce and his wife, Kylie, who admitted on an episode of her recently-started podcast that if the kids need to be watched while she is working, Jason won't be the person to do it, electing instead to seek childcare. Many are dragging Kylie for admitting this and further dragging Jason as suspect for not being responsible for watching his children when his wife is busy, especially when she is responsible for doing so when the show is on the other foot. Does the internet have a point here? We get into all of this, plus Malika Andrews, Cooking with Kya, and these crazy drone theories, on this episode!

  • 12/10/24: Waka Flocka Hates Wealth; Carmelo Anthony Defends Painted Nails; Ne-Yo the Womanizer

In a perspective that is rather anti-hip-hop, Waka Flocka has lamented his thoughts on wealth, stating that being wealthy is selfish and he prefers to give much of his money away because he doesn’t know what he’d do with $20 million in his bank account when he doesn’t need that much to eat whatever he wants, live how he wants to live, and drive what he wants. Are his thoughts on wealth being selfish sensible? Elsewhere, Carmelo Anthony is now a content creator, and in being as such is defending athletes who paint their nails, using Jared McCain as an example and saying that if they can ball, they should be left to do what they want and express themselves however they feel. Is he right, or is he missing the mark? Plus, Ne-Yo is warding off claims that he is a womanizer in light of his public polyamorous relationship setup. He doesn’t care what others think and implores people to be honest when it comes to their approach to marriage and family, but is he truly a womanizer? All of this, plus we discuss the apprehension of UnitedHealthCare CEO's killer and the way he is being propped as somewhat of a hero by some online, Travis Hunter being warned about his girlfriend by the internet, and Jaleel White feeling snubbed by Black entertainment.

  • 12/3/24: Freddie Gibbs is Anti-Gangsta; IShowSpeed on 9-to-5s; Nick Cannon’s Diagnosis

Hip-hop veteran Freddie Gibbs lamented his wishes to not be a gangsta rapper and rap about the streets or selling drugs during an appearance on The Berkeley Forum to students at the University of California, Berkeley, saying that he wishes he had never committed to being a street rapper in light of being a family man. We get into his interesting comments. We also discuss popular streamer IShowSpeed’s admission that working a 9-to-5 is harder than streaming during his appearance on Shannon Sharpe’s Club Shay Shay show. This is in contrast to Plaqueboymax’s thoughts that streaming is harder than working a job. Plus, Nick Cannon has been officially diagnosed with Narcissistic Personality Disorder, and he is embracing this and calling upon others for help as he navigates his journey. Should others take heed of this and follow suit? We also get into Serena Williams clapping back on folks wondering whether she bleaches her skin, the viral reaction to Dave Blunts' performance at Juice WRLD Day, and Randy Moss' health concerns.

  • 11/25/24: Andrew Schulz on Kendrick Lamar; Katt Williams Buys Studio Land; Jaleel White on College

Kendrick Lamar set the music world on fire with the surprise release of his GNX album. He also took shots at white comedians who joke about black women, which caught the attention of Andrew Shulz who responded to the line. He asks whether Kendrick is too woke to understand a joke. Is this a valid question? We also talk about Katt Williams, who has purchased land in Alabama to create his own movie studio, commenting that he doesn’t want Tyler Perry to do it by himself. Is this another step in the right direction for black artists and creatives? Plus, Jaleel White recently opined on going to college, saying that although he is happy to have been accepted by UCLA, in hindsight he wishes he had dropped out because college just leaves people in debt rather than leading them to a great career. Do you agree? All of this and more, including Walmart rolling back its DEI policies, Jake Paul and Mike Tyson controversy, and Charles Barkley criticizing the Lakers for their handling of Bronny James, so hang tight and vibe out with us!
