Honey LaBronx stars in her own YouTube cooking series, The Vegan Drag Queen, and hosts the Big Fat Vegan Radio podcast. An LGBTQ rights activist, she is committed to bringing discussions about animal rights, intersectionality, and social justice to new audiences. In 2011, she was one of 8 activists arrested for blocking New York City traffic while demonstrating for marriage equality alongside her drag mother, Bob The Drag Queen. She has performed around the world raising funds for local animal sanctuaries, rescues, and activist organizations. Out of drag Honey (Ben Strothmann) is an actor, singer, playwright, and theatrical photographer, originally from Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Honey and Carly get into so many good conversations in this episode, from how to make your own soy milk to manifesting. There was so much goodness that this is only part 1!

Collectively we are talking about mental health more and more, especially in 2020! In this episode Carly talks about a new way to check in with ourselves and others suggested by her best friend Kris. The technique is called P.I.E.S. and stands for physical, intellectual, emotional, and spiritual. Carly demonstrates how to run through checking in on each of these levels and encourages the listener to do the same.

Ilyse Wassermann Petter has been a practicing clinical nutritionist for over 25 years. Her practice quickly evolved into focusing on plant-based nutrition. Ilyse used this knowledge to create many projects and organizations to help educate people on plant-based living and eating. Most recently she helped to found the non-profit, Seed Releaf, a nonprofit that partners with local farms and restaurants to provide food to people experiencing food insecurity due to COVID-19. Ilyse and Carly talk about the journey to becoming vegan, making connections to the larger world along the way, and how to use privilege to make a difference.
