Exactly how much does appearance matter? Apparently a lot. Statistics compiled by the American Society of Plastic Surgeons revealed almost 18 million people underwent surgical and minimally invasive cosmetic procedures in the US in 2018—nearly a quarter million more than 2017.

Although the ability to correct a perceived defect or improve how we look can be life changing, the rise in popularity does not mean the decision should be taken lightly say experienced physicians and patients.
