Belinda is an accomplished lawyer and a Director at Morrissey Law and Advisory. Belinda has significant experience in all areas of construction and infrastructure law, in both advisory and contentious matters. Uniquely informed by her extensive construction litigation experience, Belinda works closely with her clients to build project relationships, analyse and understand risk, and minimise disputes. Belinda also lectures at the University of Newcastle in Construction Law for the School of Built Environment and also provides training to clients and industry bodies in all areas of construction law, including contract management and Security of Payment legislation. Before becoming a lawyer, Belinda worked as a social worker for acute mental health and sexual assault services. Belinda applies the same qualities she learned as a social worker to resolve legal issues – buckets of empathy, common sense, humour, and teamwork. In this episode, you'll learn about:
- Delivering law differently
- Risk allocation and conflict resolution
- Relationship management
- Professionalism with heart
- Determination and resilience for success
