I believe there's a correct and incorrect way to build connections in the industry. There's also small and big events all around town and it's difficult to figure out which of these events would be most beneficial. I've been to events of all sizes with people from various different industries and I've seen my fair share of the differences.
I really like the small intimate events because you can get more personal to everyone. Whether these are $20 10-person events hosted by a small level entrepreneur or a $20,000 10-person event hosted by one of the biggest names in the industry, the smaller the event the better the connections you can make.

With the rise in AI and all kinds of new technology, what does the future of construction look like?
When AI first came into light, most people out in the world though that hard labor blue collar jobs would be the first type of jobs getting replaced by robots. That isn't the case now though! It's being shown that the first types of jobs getting replaced by robots are minimum wage jobs along with office jobs.
Blue collar jobs will be the last one to get replaced by technology because every job every single way is different than the previous day. It takes critical thinking and skill to master blue collar jobs. As the future gets closer and technology rises, blue collar jobs will become more and more valuable overtime.

I'm sure you've heard the saying "Knowledge is power!" but that couldn't be further from the truth. The fact is that knowledge is only potential power. Knowledge is useless if all you do is gain the information and don't do anything with it. Knowledge becomes power when you actually put that into play and take action.
In this episode we share our thoughts on the fact that Knowledge is only potential power.

Shoutout to Zach Harris from Hart Srone Studio & Design from Austin, Tx for bringing us this topic to discuss!
There's a huge controversial discussion about disconnecting from work everyday. Most people think of work as this bad and unhealthy thing that they must leave at the front door of their office when they clock out for the day or something they leave locked away in their laptop if they work from home. These same most people believe they can't mix and combine work and the rest of their lives. I believe we can and I believe that we should. Of course there's exeptions to this. As you probably know by now, I don't follow most of the shit that we have accepted as our "normal" especially the work/ life balance bullshit.
If you hate what you do for a living and it causes you huge amounts of stress, then of course you wouldn't want to involve your family in that negativity. On the contrary though, if you absolutely love what you do for a living and you have a bigger purpose than just yourself or your place of work, then why wouldn't you have your family also apart of something so amazing?
Listen carefully to our thoughts on this topic and let us know your thoughts about it!

Personal Development in the trades is one of the most underrated things in the industry. 95% of the peoplein the construction industry don't focus on this and we believe it's a huge issue that needs to be addressed.
The reason we believe this is because working inside of the construction industry is one of the toughest and most difficult jobs you can have that will drain your body physically over time. If you don't take of your mental and physical health, then the job will become more difficult over time. I grew up in the indutry since I was 10 years old and I've seen this play out in the long run for many people and it isn't pretty.
Personal devolopment includes: reading books, daily stretching, lifting weights, meditation, journaling, drinking plenty of water daily, limiting alcohol and smoking and whatever else you think will help you not just out in the field but in life in general.
Listen to get other ideas on improving your life!

Kevin Martinez who also goes by the name KSparky is an electrician from San Diego, CA who is on the come up and is making massive waves in the electrical industry. Only been in the electrical industry for a couple of years now, Kevin has been a major influence to younger and newer electrical apprentices who are intrested in building a solid career.
He's one of the very few people in the construction industry, that I've meet since I got into the trades at 10 years old, that constantly works on his personal development. Staying mentally and physically fit everyday isn't an easy task when you mix it in with school work and field work, which is what attracted me to become friends with Kevin and have him on the podcast to share his story. He also plans to eventually branch out on his own and start his own company and inspire the next generation of tradesman and tradeswoman who look for advice in starting new in the field.
Kevin is sponsored by many top brands in the industry like Truewerk, Wiha Tools, Hammr, and Brunt to name a few. No one with a small influence gets that many sponsorships so you can say he's on the right path!

Most of the people in today's society glorify entrepreneurship and starting a business as a the trending hot career to get into. Those same people that glorify it aren't aware of how difficult it is to start a business let alone build a successful business.
The game is difficult on it's own but adding to it other people's opinion of what you're trying to do makes it much more difficult. Most of the closest people to you with talk shit to you or try to unmotivate you to start and build this business that you have a vision for. The people you think that will support you will probably be the last ones to support you and other people you'll meet along the journey that are strangers wil be the first ones to get in line to support you. This isn't always the case though.
In this episode I talk about the things some of your closest people will say about you, how to deal with these people and their opinions and what I did during my phase of starting a business.
