Nkechi Anele is an Australian-Nigerian musician, songwriter, radio presenter and social activist. Most notably she performed with Melbourne band Saskwatch for a decade, playing major festivals globally and releasing four critically-acclaimed albums. In 2016, along with her best friend Lucie Cutting, Nkechi launched The Pin, a website discussing race, identity and culture in Australia from the perspective of multinational and multiracial Australians. In 2018, The Pin went live at Splendour in the Grass and WOMADelaide. Since 2018 Nkechi has been the presenter of Roots ‘N’ All on triple j, where she promotes diversity through songs and boogies out to global rhythms every Monday night.

Claire Spencer AM is a leading force in the Australian arts industry. Formerly CEO of Sydney Opera House, Claire moved to Melbourne to lead the team at Arts Centre Melbourne.

As CEO Claire has steered Arts Centre Melbourne through a major restructure to to assist with its key role as a leader in the cultural precinct and a major contributor to Victoria’s creative economy. Key projects have included: the launch of the ground-breaking Asia-Pacific Triennial of Performing Arts (Asia TOPA), delivered in collaboration with more than 30 Victorian organisations from across the cultural sector; the development of the Australian Music Vault; and the establishment of the Arts Wellbeing Collective, which promotes strong individual wellbeing for those who work in the arts sector.

Claire is currently leading a major redevelopment of Arts Centre Melbourne, including refurbishment of the Theatres Building and the addition of a new campus featuring workshop, studio and education spaces, an expanded Australian Music Vault gallery, and a major new gallery celebrating Australia’s performing arts history. The project is the centrepiece of a $1 billion transformation of the Melbourne Arts Precinct announced by the Victorian Government in June 2018. Claire is a Member of Chief Executive Women – the pre-eminent organisation representing Australia’s most senior women leaders from the corporate, public service, academic and not-for-profit sectors; she is on the board of The Pinnacle Foundation, established to provide scholarships and mentoring support to lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans, queer and intersex students who are marginalised or disadvantaged; and is also a member of the Australian Government’s Australia–Singapore Arts Group. Claire is married with three children. Catherine Haridy is the CEO of the Australian Music Centre, former Executive Director of the Australian Association of Artists Managers, an Artist Manager, a Business owner, a Board Director and a mother of two. Producer, Engineer and Songwriter Anna Laverty breaks down the mystery of the studio and shares her approach to making records.

Boasting credits on projects by Nick Cave and The Bad Seeds, Courtney Barnett, Paul Dempsey and Florence and The Machine, Producer, Mixer, Engineer and writer Anna Laverty has established herself as one of Australia’s finest talents.

Under the tutelage of Award winning producers Paul Epworth (Adele, Primal Scream, Foster The People) and Ben Hillier (Blur, U2, Elbow), Anna honed her production and engineering skills working on releases by Bloc Party, Florence and The Machine and seminal English New Wave band Depeche Mode, amongst others, at London’s famed Miloco Studios. Anna brought the breadth of experience and technical expertise she developed in London back to Australia, where she has carved out her own niche. Since her return, Anna has been behind the desk, working with some of the most beloved acts in Australia and abroad, including: The Peep Tempel, Something For Kate, Amanda Palmer, Tina Arena, Cut Copy, Meg Mac and Lady GaGa. An enthusiastic supporter of local Indie talent, Anna recently produced, engineered and mixed the 2019 compilation album for Milk Records including songs with Jen Cloher, Courtney Barnett and Jade Imagine. In 2018 Anna became an APRA AMCOS Ambassador and has been a regular fixture of the APRA initiative ‘Songmakers’ since 2015.

When not in the studio, Anna focuses on songwriting, having most recently written with Hannah Joy (Middle Kids), Jade McInally (Jade Imagine), Kaitlin Keegan, as well as writing with Odette, Eilish Gilligan, Imbi The Girl and more as part of the Ricochet programme. Anna generously shares her passion for music and audio production by providing insight and expertise to aspiring engineers. Amongst others, Anna has spoken at Bigsound (QLD), FaceThe Music (VIC), Guinness Amplify (Malaysia), The Melbourne Sessions and InTune (NT),along with regularly delivering guest lectures at Universities and Colleges around the country & acting as a mentor with the Girls Rock Melbourne program.
