This week Andrew Taylor from Raccoon City Radio and the Panel-to-Panel podcast joins the guys to talk about the latest gaming news. PlayStation recently let fans know that a PS5 reveal event isn't happening anytime soon as well as explaining why they haven't determined a price for the console either. A ton of shareholder calls happened as well revealing unannounced projects set to be revealed in 2020 by publishers Ubisoft, Take-Two, and Activision. To end the show Jerrad discusses his time with The Outer Worlds as he takes a deep dive back into Obsidian's role-playing game, and Andrew discusses Apex Legends Season 4: Assimilation.
Nintendo recently revealed that both Pokemon Sword/Shield and the Nintendo Switch have been selling like hotcakes. The guys talk about what this means for both the hardware and the beloved monster catching franchise. On top of other news and rumors the guys reveal an announcement that will change the podcast in the coming months. In terms of what they've recently played Dom talks about his continued journey in Days Gone and Jerrad waxes poetic about his two-day binge of DrinkBox Studios' Guacamelee 2.
This week the panel's joined by the internet's Chris Nunes aka TopherNunes. They start by tackling NetherRealm Studios' tease of Injustice 3, HouseMarque's upcoming AAA game reveal and Dying Light 2 being delayed. As the topic of the show, Jerrad asks the panel if gamers should expect games to get delayed into the Fall/Winter season during the next console generation and if it could have a huge impact on sales and marketing moving forward. The show closes with the guys talking about their experiences with Minit, Remnant: From the Ashes, The Witcher 3, and The Silmarillion.
Throughout 2019 the crew played a bevy of games, from multiple genres, and on several different platforms. Jerrad and Dom go over their own personal Game of the Year lists and discuss what they loved most about each of those titles. Towards the top of those lists the conversation takes a deeper dive into what set them apart from the rest. The show ends with Jerrad revealing what the final results were and what 2019 was crowned Controlled Interests Game of the Year.
In the first show of 2020, Jerrad and Dom tackle a variety of gaming news stories ranging from recent events to things that broke during the holiday break. The big topic of the show focuses on the recently announced Expansion Pass DLC for Pokémon Sword & Shield that's set to release in 2020. The guys talk about what this means for the franchise moving forward and why it's the best choice when it comes to DLC implementation. They also close the show talking about their recent experiences playing Hollow Knight and Days Gone.
As the year comes to a close the guys begin to look forward to the year to come in gaming. They start the show by going over their predictions for 2019 that they made at the end of 2018 and see who came out on top. They then move on to predicting what they think will happen in video games in 2020. The show closes with each of the 3 co-hosts giving their own personal predictions for the coming year.
As the year closes the guys get together to discuss what games they're most excited for in 2020. On top of that they also talk about their own anticipation for things and the rules and definitions they set for themselves. With both the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X both releasing during the Holiday 2020 season the panel also answers a number of questions regarding expectations and certainties surrounding the next-gen hardware from Sony and Microsoft.
Now that The Game Awards 2019 are over both Jerrad and Jordan talk about everything it revealed and gave updates on. They also spend some time going over the noteworthy awards and their winners as well as covering the PlayStation State of Play that took place earlier in the week. They close the show by going over Microsoft's surprise reveal of their next-gen console called the Xbox Series X as well as the reveal of its second confirmed game, Senua's Saga: Hellblade 2.
With the Game Awards for 2019 right around the corner the guys speculate what might show up and reveal itself. Every year the show tends to have a good mix of indie, mid-level, and AAA game reveals that excite audiences for the coming year. On top of predicting what might be revealed the panel also discuss what will most likely take home the major awards for the show.
The guys recorded the latest podcast on the eve of Thanksgiving day and had plenty to talk about. Jerrad and Jordan continued their ongoing conversation about both Pokemon Sword & Shield and Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order.
