Ryan and Phillip break new ground as we conduct our first phone interview with Alan Cross.  

Alan cuts through some of the noise when it comes to the immigrants and refugees.  This is an interview you do not want to miss!  

Alan Cross is the Executive Director of Community Development Initiatives (CDI). He served as a pastor in Montgomery, Alabama for 16 years and now works with multiple organizations and coalitions in the areas of urban ministry, racial reconciliation, and immigrant and refugee ministry and advocacy across the Southeast. Alan works as the Southeast Regional Coordinator for Bibles, Badges, and Business for Immigration Reform (BBB) with the Evangelical Immigration Table (EIT). He also ministers with the Montgomery Baptist Association as their Global-Urban Strategist. Alan is the author of When Heaven and Earth Collide: Racism, Southern Evangelicals, and the Better Way of Jesus (NewSouth Books, 2014), and has been married for 21 years to Erika, and they have four children together. 

According to an article in The Atlantic, conservative evangelicals who didn't support President Trump faced some level of backlash.  This isn't just the big named evangelicals such as Russell Moore.  

Ryan and Phillip discuss the importance of remaining true to the gospel and the gospel alone.

In the first episode with 91Online, Ryan and Phillip talk about the Super Bowl ads, and how they present a very important lesson for the church as we present something that is of high quality and something that is meaningful.

This past weekend, President Trump issued 2 Executive Orders.  One suspended all refugee admittance in this country.  The other was a travel ban from 7 primarily Muslim countries.  

Speaking plainly, Ryan and Phillip are not fans.  We believe that these orders are a betrayal of several foundational concepts that we hold dear.  

We are barely a week into the new administration, and the truth has all of the sudden become fungible with "alternate facts".  The crazy thing is that there are those who are accepting these "alternate facts" (or lies...we used to call them lies) as true.  Ryan even drops a "1984" reference while Phillip talks about Gaslighting.  

Ryan and Phillip fly by the Beth Moore controversy and talk about Truth and Love, but more than that, they talk about the Bernie Sanders town hall broadcast.  

Bernie talks about stuff that the church should talk about...and the church would be wise to listen.

Back in October, Ryan and Phillip talked about brotherhood.  One of our most loyal fans, Kelli Duke, reached out to the show and asked "what about the sisters".
