In this Conversation About Power, I'm talking to Katherine Lazaruk.

She's got a charismatic, powerful aura, so you really sit up and take notice. When someone comes across like that, it’s easy to believe they were always that way, but Katherine has had her own journey and she’s sharing that with us today. 

We’re also digging into how old power structures are falling away.

Katherine explains why she believes they have actually already gone and what you can do to take on the world and your life and your business on your own terms.

In this Conversation About Power, I'm talking to Dr. Ty Wenglar. 

Ty spent 10 years in a really fascinating situation where he was both at the bottom of a power ladder in one organization and at the top of a power ladder in another. Both at the same time.

So that gave him a fascinating insight into leadership, what works, what doesn't, what's really effective, what drives a company on.

And as a result of that, and his PhD research, he started looking into purpose and how that is really a driving force in creative, effective companies. It doesn’t matter if your company is big or small, this is a message for all of us.

In this Conversation About Power, I’m talking to Raelene Weaver. Raelene is an incredibly experienced therapist. She has spent a lot of time working with relationships and with individuals, helping them to grow and develop. 

What she also spent a good while working on and what I'm talking about in this particular episode is her work with juveniles, with young men who've been involved with sexual crime. 

Now we don't go into masses of details during this episode, so don't worry about being triggered in that sense. 

This is an exploration into the abuse of power. These are young guys. They're not adults, they're teenagers. They're not fully formed, and they were involved in abusing power over others. I wanted to explore that with Raelene. I think you're going to find this a fascinating episode, because we reached some very surprising conclusions.

In this Conversation About Power, I'm going to be sharing what I learned during my recent trip to Phoenix in Arizona.

I went there for the Business By Design (BBD) Live event on December 5th, 6th, and 7th—and let me tell you, it was quite the journey. I’m talking a nine-hour flight to Atlanta, another four hours to Phoenix, and oh, a cold that decided to tag along for the ride. So, bear with me if I sound a bit scratchy!

But honestly, this trip was such a mix of breakthroughs, nostalgia, and cultural quirks that I couldn’t wait to share it with you.

In this Conversation About Power, I'm talking about change.

This has been spurred on by the fact that this week I'm going to the States for the first time in 30 years. I lived in Texas in 1993-1994, and found a lot that I loved there (and some things I really didn’t like at all). 

Returning so many years later has made me think about what will have inevitably changed and about change in general. It’s also reminded me that we deal with change in different ways. 

Just this week, I suddenly realized there's a parallel you can draw between the Downton Abbey series and AI. We can learn a lot from this series about change back then that can help us deal with the changes we are facing now.
