In “Turn to God with Carin,” Carin Jayne Casey introduces Debra Keeton, her friend of five years at the House of Prayer in Virginia. Debra has been in “Totally Delivered and Free” ministry for twelve years and counsel’s women. She and Casey recently went on a NYC missions trip together with Mechanicsville Christian Center, as domestic violence advocates to show homeless and sheltered women the love of God.
Debra shared that during her ministry, she encounters many women who are hurting because of domestic violence, and struggle with shame, even though abuse was not their fault. She strives to open the doors to the suffering and shame in domestic violence, abortion, and addictions, with only love, no judgment, so the women can overcome.
Debra points out the primary focus as prayer and reading God’s word. Counseling is very important in order for women to understand how to deal with their pain rather than to suffer in silence. Women are urged to go seek counseling, and that’s available at House of Prayer [Central campus in Chesterfield, and Westchester, phone no. (804) 796-2828].
Debra gave an illustration for us to understand how we treat Jesus when we’re not reading his word and in prayer. She again emphasized the need for counseling, which is welcome to all women, with only love, not judgement, and confidentiality is kept. Her message is that Jesus loves you, and so does the House of Prayer.

We know how to pray through The Lord’s Prayer, “… Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name, Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven, Give us this day our daily bread, And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors, And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.” Matthew 6:9-13 (kjv).
