On this episode we look at peer pressure through the lens of fiction: how herd mentality or the need to fit in can influence otherwise rational and moral human beings to commit heinous crimes. Although all the references for this episode come from feature films, television programmes and literature, most are inspired by real events or are allegories for real events.
Art can often offer a very helpful way to view ideas and the human condition. My desire with this piece is prompt thinking from a self-defence, defence of the self perspective. After all, self-protection should begin with mental self-protection.
