EPISODE 9: Celebrating failures.
Why do we focus so much on the negativity of our failures and the failures of others when we should actually be celebrating these failures?
I really don’t see failures in the way that most people do. I believe we all make many mistakes and errors along the way in our lifetime, but most of the time, we truly didn’t intend to screw up, and we shouldn’t be condemned as an ultimate failure just because we didn’t get it right.
Yes, I know...it’s hard to determine another person’s intent, but I truly believe that most of us are truly just doing the best that we can at any given moment.
So...when we personally screw up… we need to ask ourselves these questions. What was my intent? What am I willing to learn from this screw-up? Who do I need to apologize to? What will I do differently next time to avoid or improve this result?
I heard a personal development coach say it best recently, and I wish I could remember who said it. But, what he said stuck. YOU DON’T FAIL...YOU FIND! This really struck me, because all of life’s greatest discoveries were found because someone was okay with failing in order to find!
But, Thomas Edison said it best!
"I have not failed. I’ve just found 10,000 ways that don’t work. "
Let's work on finding, instead of failing!
Let's learn to find, instead of fail.
