Dr. Marko Noc, of University Medical Center in Slovenia, discusses the results of the COOL AMI EU pivotal trial with Dr. Ron Waksman. The study, presented as a late-breaking trial at EuroPCR 2021, found longer randomization-to-balloon time and longer total ischemic time, as well as high rates of new-onset paroxysmal atrial fibrillation, for patients who received a therapeutic hypothermia device, the ZOLL Proteus Intra Vascular Temperature Management System, in patients presenting with acute ST-elevation myocardial infarction as compared to patients who did not receive the device.
