Cooper Stuff Podcast

I announced my new book, "Wimpy, Weak, and Woke" this week. While I'm aware that the title is provocative, I must admit that I'm surprised at the amount of people who were extremely upset about a book that they haven't even read! Comments such as "Jesus wouldn't approve of this;" "white Christian men" are bad; "American conservatives aren't truly Christian" really shocked me. Today, I respond to some fan comments, as well as read Scriptures that tell us to rebuke evil. Pre-order my new book today!

Do you get confused about how a Christian should view politics? Are there "Christian things" on the right and on the left? Is the problem that there are extremes on both sides, and we just need to come together in the middle? As complicated as this seems, it's actually quite simple. Cooper Stuff breaks down what the divide is over in 3 minutes! The rest of the episode explains how the divide began and how it pertains to our current division.

Oliver Anthony's viral hit "Rich Men North of Richmond" has become an unquestionable culture moment. Some have even gone further, calling it a right wing "culture war" song. Christianity Today published an article claiming that the song "doesn't love its neighbors"— a point that I roundly disagree with. Today, I explain what I believe the song is about, and why, In my view, Christianity Today has not only missed the entire point of the song, but they are revealing yet again that they believe the true evil in society isn't coming from the atheistic, secular, sexual, and socialistic revolution. Oh no! The true destruction of society that must be called out is anything that promotes traditional Christianity or conservative ideas.

Alisa Childers joins the show for a mash up to talk about the drama happening within Christian music. We also talk about the compromise in the American church; worship music; deconstruction—and the thing that can turn it all around: a revival of holiness amongst God's people.

Last week, NRT (New Release Today) published an article called What The Bleep Is Happening To Christian Music? It discusses the trend of shocking things happening in Christian music like dropping F bombs in songs, a Christian drag artist, sexual innuendo, and suggestive dancing. Today we will look at the article and discuss these items, but more importantly, we'll look at some of the negative responses that NRT received from christian industry insiders! It's truly marveling to see people who claim to follow Christ make such ridiculous statements; but even more disturbing is that they misuse the Bible to justify their claims. The rot is real. We're bout to turn some heads with this episode.

This episode is so good! Author and professor, Mark David Hall joins Cooper Stuff to talk about the truth about the Puritans, the Salem witch trials, the founding of America, slavery, and many other topics. This is so important because we live in a time where political agendas push us towards certain narratives. Mark's points helps us separate fact from fiction. I hope you love this conversation as much as I did!
