As believers we are called to live extraordinary lives. Extraordinary lives are seen in our sanctification, as the image of God is seen more clearly in us, we are freed from the false idols and securities we find in this life, to experience the love, joy and peace of our God and His kingdom. This is only possible by the grace of God. It is God who sanctifies us, giving us a desire to live for Him and empowers us to do so. We must recognize it really is “ALL God.”

God created us in His image. As His image bearers we are created to be honorable people. As we live to honor God we should, by default, honor those He appoints to leadership within the church, those we are now in covenant relationship with by the blood shed for us and inevitably we must honor His Spirit who is at work within us. Today we will see how to practically live out a God Honoring lifestyle!

In today's sermon we look specifically at the heart of the message from the Apostle Paul to the Thessalonian believers: to look forward to the return and reign of Jesus! The gospel informs and ensures our faith, and what Jesus did in dying and resurrecting gives us hope for His return. The question is, is your life a reflection of your hope in God’s eternal promises or your fixation on your temporal problems, pleasures and pursuits?

God has called the church be holy like He is holy! Today we will look at the call to live sexually pure and an exemplary life to the lost. We are God’s image bearers to the world and without holiness in our lives we will never impact the world as God intends!

Today we will look at the prayer the Apostle Paul prays and how we can and should follow his example. We need to become a people of prayer and the truth is, we can only impact the lives of others to the degree that we have been impacted in our relationship with the Lord! Prayer is vital to being all that God has called us to be as His representatives!

We are living in a time that the words of Jesus are being fulfilled. He said, in these last days, “sin would abound and the love of many would grow cold”! The church has the message that can change our world, the gospel! We must be compelled by love, through the gospel, to show the world there is hope in Jesus. Our call to make disciples must be rooted in our delight in the gospel and what Jesus has done for us, not solely our duty to obey a command!! Are you compelled by love to make disciples?

Continuing our series of “End Time Encouragement,” we look at the need for “Model Ministry.” Ministry is not just what happens in a building, on a Sunday, but what happens through the church, i.e., the “People of God”. We need to be models of Jesus’ finished work on the cross and the present work of the Holy Spirit in our lives. The Apostle Paul models ministry for all to believers to imitate!

This sermon begins our End Time Encouragement Series based on 1st & 2nd Thessalonians. We will go verse by verse through these two letters written by the Apostle Paul to encourage the faith of these believers. He begins in chapter one by encouraging them of the model they have been, giving us an example of what the church should be like today. God's standards are the highest! He is perfect and expects us to seek His perfection, by grace, in our lives as individuals and as a collected body! Be encouraged, there is hope in Jesus and we must live as those looking forward to His return!

In closing this series we want to look at trusting God in the midst of a politically correct culture that desperately needs a bold witness from the church for the gospel! Our hearts must be consumed by a passion for God to be glorified in and through us…let us pray for the kingdom of God to be manifested through us even when the enemy is scheming to bring about his plans that oppose God's. Moreover, let us know that God has called us to be light that exposes darkness even when that means being everything but politically correct.
