Friends and neighbors, Children of The Flock, Pastor Petey Perkins here and I must start off by apologizing to Brother Corey Ryan Forrester….

You see, Brother Corey asked me to keep this weeks sermon brief. He is taking care of his baby alone while his wife is in Florida, no doubt committing sins, though none of which are against Pastor Petey’s personal religion!

He said he wanted to keep the editing to a minimum but Father God the Holy Spirit grabbed holt of Pastor Petey’s tongue and would turn it loose, amen!

Hidy gang!

Every Tuesday I will be coming to you with a brand new story! Not a park rant that’s all over the place (though those ain’t going nowhere!) but an actual story… some from my own life, some completely made up!

I’m considering this episode the prologue because it sort of serves as my homework for next week.. let me explain!

So as you all know, Hollywood executives have forced the strikes over fear that A.I. will be used to replace writers…. So this week, I have asked an AI chat bot to write me a story using the prompt “write me a story about a private detective who was once in the civil war but now solves mysteries in the town of Chickamauga, Ga and has a pet possum named Percy”

Well, it did, and the result was…. Well you can hear for yourself!

My homework for next Tuesday is to write a story with those parameters myself! And I am confident in my abilities to make it hit way harder than a damn computer 🤣

Hey y’all! This is definitely the most difficult recording I’ve made on here! Because of many factors, the writers and actors strike being the most notable, I will have to start putting things behind a paywall again!

Mind you… not EVERYTHING will be behind a paywall. Sunday Sermons, Park Rants, essays, almost all the things you’re used to will still be given to you. The last thing I want to do is TAKE things away….

However, I will have to put certain exclusive things behind a paywall to incentivize people to pay for my work.

Before the strikes, I could routinely count on writing gigs and such and therefore was happy to make this Substack a place where if you didn’t wanna pay, you didn’t have to, cause it was all just extra to me

Well now, it’s becoming less “extra” and more the thing I work on the most

That said…. I can get away with still offering free “content” by way of using advertising in the videos and recordings . Those who pay 5 dollars a month will not have the advertisements. That will be one of the services your 5 bucks gets.

Again, I’m so sorry, but until the world gets back on track, this will just be what has to be. When I first set the model for this Substack, I didn’t have a baby’s mouth to feed 🤣

I have faith that things will correct themselves soon and I’ll be back to offering everything for free.

I started Rantin because watching older movies with my son has made me nostalgic for the way movies used to be!
