From 1 Peter 2:4-12. God has wonderful plans to include his people in something amazing, with Jesus as the cornerstone. It means we have really important things to do as we walk with him and serve him.

From 1 Peter 1:22-2:3. In Christ, we have new birth and living hope. This passage focuses on the role of God's Word in this process. In hope, may we obey the living and enduring Word God has given to us.

From 1 Peter 1:13-21. Hope is meant to lead to action. Because we have wonderful promises from God about what he will do to bring his people to himself, we should pursue holiness.

From 1 Peter 1:10-12. God's work is spoken grace to us. He has revealed ahead of time what he will do. We can look back and see how he has fulfilled his promises. We can look ahead and trust that he will complete his good plans. (Note: in the first part of this sermon, I give some teaching on praying for our leaders and unity in the church during these coronavirus times.)

From 1 Peter 1:3-9. Continuing in this "Living Hope" series, in this sermon, we look again at the idea of hope. This time, it's the hope of a future inheritance for all who know Jesus. Having this certain promise from God should strengthen us to live with fay and joy now, even in the midst of trials.

Doing this should help us understand the world we live in as well as how we should live in this world. Because God is holy, we should be holy, too. Because God is love, we should love, too.
