Once again I am excited to share my findings regarding the Fear of the LORD! This morning’s sermon is titled “The Fear of the LORD is the Beginning of Knowledge and Wisdom” We will be examining the Scripture from Proverbs 1:7 and 9:10. I hope you will find the starting point for all real truth, knowledge, and wisdom is the reverential fear of the LORD, the only true Sovereign, omniscient, omnipotent, omnipresent! We will first review what the fear of the LORD means. Second, we will discover what the Scriptures teach regarding the truth statement that “The beginning of knowledge is the reverential fear of the LORD. The closing point will describe what the beginning of wisdom is the reverential fear of the LORD means. I have included the sermon note sheets and two handouts with important quotes by two awesome scientists who changed the world with their discoveries of God’s Creation!

This morning, we will unfold Psalm 2 in the sermon titled, “Serve the LORD in Reverential Fear,” you will realize that this is true. In the context of our present world situation we are called by God to serve Him in reverential fear. Too often we are led to believe that the fear of the LORD is all about judgment and condemnation. Yes, for the unfaithful and unbelieving, this future reality is true but those who worship and serve Him out of reverential fear there will be countless blessings in the present age and eternal life in the next. We will begin with looking at the bad news for the rebellious carnally minded world leaders. Second, we will look closely at the Lord’s response to these worldly leaders. In His response we are greatly encouraged that Jesus has been appointed the King of Kings and the only true Sovereign to govern all that is seen and unseen. Finally, we will hear God’s call to service in reverential fear.

This morning we will finish the third lesson in our series about “The 6th Law of Momentum- The Power of Fear!” In the lesson titled “We are NOT Overpowered by our Fears.” We recognize that fear is real and it can, has, and does happen to the best of us. The Apostle Paul is a good example for us. This being said, it is critically important to realize that although the fears of man plague us all, Faith, Hope, and Love are exceedingly more powerful in overpowering our fears in this life. They give us the strength to be more than conquerors, they empower us to be Light and Life in this dark and dying world as Christ’s liberating army! This morning we will look at the fears the Apostle Paul and the first century church experienced and find out how they were able to powerfully overcome all fears and obstacles in their way!

We have begun our Scriptural journey in the study of Fear as a strong and powerful motivator. As was introduced last week, fear of man, suffering, death, and any other fear you may face in this life can drive you away from loving and serving the LORD. We must learn how to courageously move forward in faithfulness in the face of these fears. We must learn to fear the LORD. We must learn the many facets of the fear of the LORD and the rich and wonderful blessings that are granted to those who fear the LORD only. This morning we begin in earnest by facing the realities of being a true disciple of Jesus Christ. Using the word of Christ found in Matthew 10:24-39, we will examine five unalterable realities that Christians must face and chose how they will respond to them. In order to respond correctly, we need to answer three important questions. Who and what are we to fear? Who and what are we to serve? Who and what we are to love? In searching the bible in the next twelve months we will find the definitive answer to each of these questions and be mentally and spiritually equipped for the challenges to come.
