Even before COVID-19 began there was a shortage of truck drivers in the United States and with the lack of training during the pandemic the situation has gotten worse. Issues of unloading container ships remains a major problem but the issue of getting goods to consumers starts with a shortage of trucks transporting those goods. The Food and Drug Administration’s vaccine advisory panel today endorsed the use of Moderna’s COVID-19 booster shot for the elderly and others at high risk because of possible exposure at their jobs or they have underlying health factors. The vote was 19-0 but the recommendation is not final and will go before the FDA to issue an official decision.
