EP 071 -
Ken Hoops, the owner and operator of Impact Martial Arts, began his career in the grocery and retail business; however, his passion has always been with martial arts. He joined a small private business in his early 20’s as part of his first dropout story and eventually went back to work with Whole Foods Market when the chain store moved into his area. Ken spent several years building teams, gaining valuable leadership experience, and climbing the ladder. Like so many people, when it came time for the big promotion, the position was eliminated. Ken used that moment to make a huge decision to go back to his calling with martial arts. Ken’s story is inspiring, and we talk in length about how he pivoted during the shutdown of Covid-19. Grab your pen and paper and take notes on how forward thinking and building his community kept Ken from losing his business.
