It's taken two and a half years, but I finally have COVID-19. I tested positive this morning (Monday 25thJuly 2022). I'll talk about the interactions with health officials and how I'm feeling.
Monkeypox has been declared a global emergency by the World Health Organisation over the weekend. Great! Just what we need now :-( But it's important to note it's not as communicable as coronavirus. That's something at least. https://www.abc.net.au/news/2022-07-24/monkeypox-global-emergency-explainer/101264710

The Victorian Department of Education has decided to recommend kids under 8 and all school staff to wear a mask inside classrooms in the state. That kicks off a storm of people complaining about mask mandates again... of course this is not the case, but hey it's good to be angry isn't it?!?!?
My Superannuation battle is not over yet. I've got an update for you.
COVID cases are increasing in Australia and as always politics and misinformation is getting in the way. Thankfully not as much as it was for the previous government.

My latest battles with social media addiction. Yes, there you go, I've admitted it. The tweet rapper Nicki Minaj posted last year was debunked but it's back again. I'm finding it hard to comprehend that Victoria's Health Minister is disregarding the state's Chief Health Officer's recommendations on wearing masks. Hands up if you too had suspected that Elon Musk might try to weasle out on the deal to buy Twitter?
It was announced yesterday that Musk was seeking to pull out of the multi billion dollar deal. The social media platform meantime doesn't plan to have any of that, with a US$1B non completion charge.
I've got views on this as I'm sure you do too. Both parties, Twitter and Elon Musk are ones where people have either a love or hate relationship.
Let's delve into it.

All those bumps in the political road for UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson, including PartyGate have taken him to a dead end... at least for him Prime Ministership.
Overnight the PM announced that he would be resigning following a barage of resignations within his own Conservative Party.
It was exactly a month and one day ago that I put out a podcast episode (CM0813) on the vote of no confidence that Johnson eventually won. A month later he'd be standing outside Downing Street announcing that he was handing in the keys to No. 10.
News story on Johnson's resignation from BBC News... https://www.bbc.com/news/uk-politics-62088774 and as for possible contenders for the UK's to job... https://www.bbc.com/news/uk-politics-60037657
Here's some of the resources used in that episode that can serve as a backgrounder as to how Boris Johnson got to this point.

Looking in to the results of the 2021 Australian Census and some interesting facts, and on the subject of religion in Australia, I've made a link so I can play some incredibly freaky audio of a preacher elevating well known American Republican gun toting clan mom, Marjorie Taylor Greene to almost God status with no consequences for her actions.
