The salt flats west of Salt Lake City, Utah is one of the most unique places on earth. With strange reflections, firm flat ground, and 0 vegetation, the flats truly are out of this world. One of the biggest lessons I have recently learned in my endeavors is the importance of non-destructive editing. What I mean is full, 100% non-destructive editing. 3 ways to accomplish this is, understanding your bad habits, use masks, and smart objects, and slow down your process to keep your focus on good editing practices.

Weather from pivotal life moments in self discovery or through the best day of your life to marry your best friend, there is power in story and power in this “artistic coin”. You are the story, you are the art. We all go through these phases and people will relate. Don’t be fearful of your story or ability to tell a story. Trust the artistic process and you will find yourself becoming more and more creative.

If you ever have wanted to head to Utah to photograph the stars, you’ve probably heard all about Zions National Park and Arches National Park. But there is another park you may not have heard of that brings a whole new dimension to Utah’s awesome landscapes. That park is Canyonlands.Located outside of the town of Moab and just outside of Arches National Park you will find a Canyon system that rivals even some parts of the Grand Canyon.

In the world of Astrophotography, camera sensors are a hot topic. Quite often we find ourselves lost amongst the internet chatter about the newest camera and specs that can make even the hardiest of photographers leave the forms with a headache. So what’s the big deal? What truly should we be looking for in terms of cameras sensors? There are 3 main things that contribute to a sensor for Astrophotography: ISO performance, Dynamic Range, and The Lenses you can put in front of that sensor. In the world of Art and Photography, it can be difficult to find your voice and style. We have all been told that style is key to differentiating your work among others but not much is said about practical ways to get there. In my mind, there are 2 main ways to not only find your style but get consistent with it: Pick specific anchoring subjects to subject your workaround and also, Create bodies of work with multiple individual pieces. We all can create stylish work but we can't always keep that work consistently enough to develop a full style.

With social media growing more and more and with platforms aplenty there is so much opportunity to use your special artistic talent in your specific style. We all get caught up from time to time in the vast noise of likes, comments, and stats. But does all this mean something? Where is the true value found behind the noise? Annie and Roy take on this subject in today's episode. 

To answer these questions we first must look into the root of our 'why'. Why do we like to create? What drives us to create this content and what are the goals we personally have? For me, creativity is an outlet. It has always been a great way for me to express the deep thoughts and questions in my heart. Creativity has also served me greatly in processing the stresses and curiosities that seem to constantly play in my head over and over.
