Clare County Council has become the first local authority in the country to oppose the GAA's decision to impose ticket charges for U-16s at National League games.
The charge will only apply to Division 1A and 1B fixtures in both hurling and football, for what the GAA claims is due to health, safety and crowd control reasons and high capacity events.
As part of the new policy, an U-16 ticket can now only be purchased in conjunction with an adult ticket.
Whitegate Fine Gael Councillor Pat Burke believes its a money making exercise.
