Self-criticism gets in the way of the best of us. And learning how to change our mindset from 'Can I?' to 'I can!' sometimes takes a big kick in the pants... like a pandemic.
Stepping into a space of self-acceptance can be challenging. It takes unlearning the things that do not serve you and changing your self-perception. It takes moving through depression, anxiety and at times, even suicidal thoughts to discover who you truly are.
Overcoming self-sabotage is a hard lesson for many. When present in our lives, we end up sabotaging relationships, opportunities and the good things in life simply because we do’t believe that we deserve them.
Overcoming shame, guilt and unhealthy coping mechanisms linked to self-sabotage and fear can take years. Its a process of unraveling the suppressed emotions and feelings that lay dormant within you.
The link between procrastination, perfection and people-pleasing is rarely spoken about and yet, is a major block for many women. Overcoming this involves learning to prioritise and practice radical self-care, which can pose its own challenges.
On this episode of the #courage1000project, MellyS The Story Collector interviews Kelly Myerson about how she discovered the link between procrastination and perfectionism on her way to radical self-care.
Kelly is an author, speaker, coach, and sleep expert who will cultivate space for you to emerge from stress and overwhelm to lead and savor the life of your dreams. As an occupational therapist, Kelly has over 20 years of experience specializing in sensory integration techniques.
