What if we use this time to heal, to awaken? Identifying the doubts, the cracks in the foundation that we didn’t put there. Embracing the breakdown for the breakthrough. Unbecoming instead of so much focus on the becoming. Vulnerability is so beautiful, it’s also incredibly powerful.

This is new for all of us and comes with a lot fear and overwhelm. I hope this episode helps to bring some connection, perspective and compassion.

Leisha shared her darkest moments publicly, removing shame and bringing awareness to mental health illness and impact. The family being forced to live apart, the two older children not able to see their baby brother in the hospital for months, the rollercoaster of not knowing if their son is going to survive and her still doing all the regular ordinary things! I first did something SO out of the norm (crazy even) but I felt it so strongly on my heart so I had to and...she was appreciative but didn’t quite agree, yet. She also said something incredibly powerful during our conversation that stopped me in my tracks, “My reaction to it won’t change my child’s diagnosis!” Tune in to hear about the message I first sent and hangout with us as we dive into multiple hard topics. She is proof that your mindset is everything. She is also proof that weathering the storms (even really really hard ones) as husband and wife is possible when the foundation is strong, and effort is made.

Does your spouse know them too? One thing I was very ignorant about was PTSD and only associating it with military. PTSD & Triggers are real and the argument I had with my husband and shared about goes into this a little bit more.. keeping it real, always!

Marriage is supposed to be the simplest in the beginning, it was anything but that for Rachel. 18 years married she shares with us the emotional, impactful moments that created intimacy, that promised love and that has them more connected than ever.
