When you are in survival mode being in your authenticity and attracting a man who shares your authentic values in courtship is a challenge. This is because when you are anxious, fearful of getting hurt, or trying to control the outcome of the relationship you aren't focused on building meaningful connections. Instead, you will simply focus on securing the man or the relationship, even if he is the wrong partner for you. While it's a good thing to have resilience in courtship, applying pressure or ignoring incompatibility only causes you to waste time with a nowhere relationship or possibly commit to a man who's not authentically aligned.
This is a Monday Coffee Chat episode from 2019, where you go behind the scenes of The Captivating Courtship Code coaching program for live Q&A coaching. Zara J. shares expert relationship coaching advice to guide clients through their courtship and dating questions. How do you push past an ex and deal with interfaith relationships? In today's coaching episode, we'll have an insightful conversation about how to do just that.
In relationships and specifically interfaith relationships, it's important to understand why we feel the way we do and process our emotions. In this episode, she admits that she still misses her ex because he had certain qualities that she can't find in other men around her. But as she digs deeper, she realizes that she's not open to receiving those qualities from other men because she got hurt the last time she did. She also realizes that if men don't show up for her right from the beginning, she tends to lose interest and doesn't give them a chance to open up later on. This points her toward a much deeper issue: her own emotional unavailability.
If you want someone to give, you have to be open to receiving. This often proves to be difficult because we come from a place of fear, distrust, judgment, and guarded emotions. It’s crucial to focus your mind and energy on the type of relationship you envision for yourself.
In coaching with Zara, this woman reaches the conclusion that in interfaith dating, when you’re not operating in your authentic values and boundaries, things will often take unexpected turns. She realizes while processing that her key takeaway from this coaching class was just this. Determining her own authentic values because if your values are fluctuating depending on who you’re in front of, it is an indicator that you’re not operating to your full authentic worth.
Take a cup of coffee and dive into this episode to process your perspective on interfaith relationships and getting over exes as you listen to this coaching episode unfold.

You don’t need to go through pain and relationship issues for months or years on end to find a valuable man who is worthy of you. Today’s episode brings to you freshly brewed stories for the Captivating Courtship Code which are examples to tell you How and why to stop wasting time with a relationship that’s going nowhere.
Many high-achieving women rush into the dating and courtship process, focusing solely on the outcome. This will lead to being in cycles of non-committal relationships, investing in emotionally unavailable men or toxic, narcissistic men, and hot & cold relationships. In doing this, endless time is wasted hoping for a man to commit and come around.
The problem lies in how much we value our time and when we don’t value our time, how can we expect anyone else to value it? If you want love, trust, emotional connection, stability, and a partner who is authentically aligned to your personal and professional life, you have to be confident about their commitment level and you don’t have the time to waste it on convincing them to prove your worth to a man or relationship that makes you feel insecure and doubtful.
High-achieving women almost always face pressure to succeed in all areas of life - career, relationships, personal commitments, and simultaneous pressure to not be weak through all of this. The obvious result is stress and stress leads them to complicate relationships and over-extend themselves physically, emotionally, and even financially.
You must practice getting out of your mind and into your body, heart, and gut. Your gut is your feminine intuition and that is your superpower in the courtship and dating journey. Pay attention to whether he is using language that includes you in his future plans. Is he consistent in his investment in you? Is he respectful of the boundaries that you create or is he breaching them? It is also on you to not just create but also keep these boundaries irrespective of who comes and goes. When you spend more time reflecting on your relationship patterns and experiences, you will see long-term authentic shifts in the quality of your life and relationships.
Take a deep dive into this episode to gain valuable insight into the hows and whys of not wasting your time in nowhere relationships.

Humility in your spirit is a beautiful virtue to have but it can make you shrink in your courtship process in a way that is unhealthy for both your partner and most importantly, you. Take a deep dive into this episode to know why humility does not serve successful women during dating and courtship.
Since time immemorial women have been taught to be less, speak less, and express less. It has never been safe for a woman, especially women of color to be seen and heard. We grow with generational trauma and triggers that severely impact our understanding and expression of our most authentic selves. It is not unexpected then, that we develop the idea that we have to shrink ourselves in order to be loved, valued, and respected. If we don’t, we fear that there will be rejection and abandonment.
Many women are what we would call, modern traditionalists. Women who have worked hard to create a completely modern life but the values they hold are traditional. In that case, a traditional or an anti-traditional man can again force us to shrink our boundaries, needs, and wants. If we don’t, there comes the fear of rejection again.
However, although this may come across as contradictory, the truth is you can have both - balancing modernity and traditional values. Navigating the complexities of courtship can be challenging but the real problem is not external. It is the self-doubt, the insecurity of being too successful and still not being enough, it is the disbelief in the ability to have a fulfilling relationship. This happens because we place our value in external things like our home-making skills or our sex appeal or mostly, our accomplishments.
The solution to this? Setting boundaries in courtship and embracing your most, authentic self, placing your value in your growth. The end goal here is overcoming self-doubt in dating, and owning your value in courtship because if you don’t, humility can keep you in a loop of compromise. Inner-work for successful women isn’t easy as you must challenge the beliefs that come up and question your worthiness, making you want to hold back and shrink but this reprogramming of how you show up in a relationship is the most important takeaway from today’s episode. If you have been dedicating 10-15 years of your life to education, growth, and self-development, you deserve a partner who understands you and is authentically aligned with your values. Today’s episode brings you an in-depth dive into the 3rd and 4th mistakes of the Courtship Mistakes series of episodes in our podcast!
If you find yourself jumping into situations that don’t go too far, it is because there is somewhere in you a lack of confidence in your own ability to feel valued, loved, and respected. There is thus a high level of urgency and you don’t trust any man, no matter how valuable to take his time to make the decision to commit to you. The problem, to begin with, is ourselves. If we don’t truly believe in the value we bring to the table, how can we expect to be able to qualify a man?
This could look like a disaster, but these human mistakes need action. You need clarity to first know and then own your authentic value, you need to open up your social circles and tap those social resources for your courtship process too to meet these valuable men around you (believe us when we say there are plenty). You have to very necessarily take the effort to go through the courtship process in a way that is intentional and will lead to commitment. This is where knowing how to get courted, and stepping back into your feminine energy comes into the picture.
It’s not a rule but this is why at Captivating Courtship, we focus on getting to know how men think and their perspective in commitment psychology. It truly could be life-changing for your courtship process. The Love Loft is a tool that has the power to transform your framework, shake and reconstruct your belief system and most importantly get you commitment-ready so you can meet, qualify, and get courted by valuable men.
Take a plunge into this insightful episode and know what not to do when you’re trying to court for commitment!
