Pursue love, and desire spiritual gifts, but especially that you may prophesy. 2 For he who
speaks in a tongue does not speak to men but to God, for no one understands him; however,in the spirit he speaks mysteries. 3 But he who prophesies speaks edification and exhortation and comfort to men. 4 He who speaks in a tongue edifies himself, but he who prophesies edifies the church. 5 I wish you all spoke with tongues, but even more that you prophesied; for he who prophesies is greater than he who speaks with tongues, unless indeed he interprets, that the church may receive edification.
Dr. Andrew Newberg, a neuroscientist at the University of Pennsylvania, who used SPECT brain imaging to study people during religious practices, including speaking in tongues.

“Praise the Lord, For His mercy endures forever.”
Notice: praise should always lead the way.
22 Now when they began to sing and to praise, the Lord set ambushes against the people of Ammon, Moab, and Mount Seir, who had come against Judah; and they were defeated. 23 For the people of Ammon and Moab stood up against the inhabitants of Mount Seir to utterly kill and destroy them. And when they had made an end of the inhabitants of Seir, they helped to destroy one another. 24 So when Judah came to a place overlooking the wilderness, they looked toward the multitude; and there were their dead bodies, fallen on the earth. No one had escaped.

HOW TO TAME THE TONGUE
James 3:7–8 NKJV
Galatians 5:16–18, NKJV
James 3:7–8 delivers the sobering verdict: no man can tame the tongue.
However, the Holy Spirit can, and with his help we can keep this flesh under.
1 Corinthians 14:4 — “he who speaks in a tongue edifies himself” — οἰκοδομεῖ (oikodomeō)
means to build up, to construct. Regular prayer in the Spirit literally builds something in the inner man that begins to govern the outer man — including the tongue.
The tongue is the last thing to be sanctified and the first thing that reveals whether it has been. Start praying in the Spirit every day. Get God-inside minded. And watch what happens to your words — because your words are telling everyone, including you, who is really governing your life.
