National Day of Prayer 2020

Almost everybody can agree with these words of Jesus - In this

world, you will have trouble. But just as surely as the Bible tells of the certainty of trouble, it also gives us the prescription for making it through. It says rejoice. In this message we'll talk about 3 possible perspectives or reasons why we go through difficult times, and why they might be reason to rejoice.

Just a matter of weeks ago, we were all just minding our own business, making

plans and living life, when suddenly and unexpectedly this pandemic hit. For

some of you, and I would venture to say most of us to one extent or the other,

this crisis has caused us to fall flat on our faces and it has exposed us. Crisis

does that like nothing else. When our weaknesses and faults have been exposed, what is our response?

On Sunday mornings, all over the country, people are having a very different

experience than they would have had a month ago. Our church services were created to connect us TO God, but I am afraid that God is revealing in the church that some people have elevated the Sunday morning worship service to the point that it is now keeping them FROM God. We’ve made a religion of our routines of worship. Now we have a choice to make.

This is a very different world we are living in right now. Everything feels off. Things are changing. But if you will learn to be still, to quiet the noise outside and inside, you can KNOW God in a way that you have never known Him before. Don't miss this chance.

The national emergency that we are facing has affected nearly every facet of our lives, and as people face health concerns and struggle with uncertainty, it is time for the church to stand up and meet the needs of our local communities.

Today, we’re going to look at Nehemiah, an incredible leader who faced a crisis of his own, to understand how we ought to respond as believers and ensure that our actions are in line with the Word of God.
