Today in our Revelation Sermon Series we come to the end of chapter 12 where we are shown how our Lord preserves His church.

In chapters 12 & 13, we are exhorted to run the race to God's house with endurance. Right now, in chapter 13, we are looking at the various instructions about continuing in brotherly love, and more especially about marriage in Hebrews 13:4. This week, I decided to preach on Hebrews 13:4 again. Marriages are not healthy in the modern church. This subject needs more attention.

Today's text tells us what happened in heaven. Jesus, the one to whom the throne belongs, has come to inherit His heavenly throne.

In chapter 13, we are instructed about how we are to conduct ourselves as brothers who are together on the road that Christ has made to our Father's house in glory. The foundational exhortation is that we are to let brotherly love continue. Now we are looking at the particulars (loving strangers, remembering prisoners). Today we come to a third particular aspect of 'letting brotherly love continue.'

Hebrews 13 gives us rules about how we ought to conduct ourselves in the church as we run this race with our brothers and sisters. In sum, we have seen that we are to continue in brotherly love.

Today we come to Revelation 12:1-6. Here we are given a very compressed picture of the church. We see a quick picture of her before Christ came and when He came. This compressed history is very helpful because it shows us what the church's essential nature is—in short, that she is the woman with her son.

Today we are continuing our sermon series in Hebrews. We will be looking at Hebrews 13:2. Hebrews 13 is the last chapter in this epistle or letter to the Hebrews. We are told how to go on with His people. We are told how to conduct ourselves with His people.

In the passage we are looking at today, John returns to see what happens "up there" which he learns about in a vision. It is clear that the things he sees happen in order—the seventh trumpet is blown after the sixth. Rev 11:14 declares: The second woe is past. Behold, the third woe is coming quickly."
