Last time, we looked at v. 13. It is directly tied to verse 14 which we are looking at today. Verse 13 says we must bear the reproach (the shame and disrespect) that Jesus had to bear if we follow Him, but v. 14 reminds us that our rest and reward is not found in this present world but in heaven. 'Here we have no continuing city, but we seek the one that is to come.' Let's consider what this means and how it applies to us.

Last time in our sermon series from Revelation we came to the fifth section of the prophecy that has to do with the 'bowl' judgments. Today, I want to pick up with this verse, Rev 15:5, and read to Rev. 16:1. Here, we will see God's wrath, prepared to be poured out in seven plagues.

The passage we are looking at today tells us that when we trust Jesus in this way, we will have to bear His reproach. That means that people will look down on you.

Today, we come to a new section (the fifth section) in Revelation. Revelation 2-3: The first was the letters to the seven churches. Revelation 4-7: The seven seals. Revelation 8-11: The seven trumpets. Revelation 12-14: The middle section showing a summary of Christ overcoming Satan. Revelation 15-19: The seven bowls which show the destruction of Jerusalem. from a different perspective. What we have today is an introduction to this section. It is similar to the introduction to the seven seals and the seven trumpets.

Today we will resume our sermon series from Hebrews 13. In this book, we have been looking at our life's journey as Christians from sin to glory. Today in 13:10-11, we look at feeding upon Christ as the bread of eternal life.

In the Bible, the church is often referred to in agrarian terms with the Lord as the owner. In the passage we come to today, Revelation 14:14-20, we see Him reaping His harvest. The church is called to do this work on earth, but as is often the case in Revelation, we get to see the work that goes on in the spiritual realm with the Lord and His angels.
