In an effort to really acknowledge this time, this crisis that seems to keep going on and on, hosts Laura Cathcart Robbins & Scott Slaughter track down some real life heroes and she-ros who are currently showing up on the front lines of this pandemic. People like nurses, doctors, advocates for the homeless community, teachers, grocery store workers, firefighters and more.
When COVID 19 first traveled out of Wuhan, China, it hit Italy first, quickly finding its way to the wealthy Lombardy region and settling in. Of Italy’s 159,516 cases, Lombardy has over 60,000. And of Italy’s 20,000 deaths - over half of those were in the Lombardy region. Today we spoke with my dear, long-time friend, Josine de Wolde (pronounced, YO-seen deeVoldah) who grew up in and currently lives in the Lombardy region.
Josine is the NYT Circulation and B2B Sales Director for Italy, UK and Ireland. She lives in Taino Italy, just outside of Milan with her husband and two daughters ages 14 and 17. Please note that Josine gave this interview as my friend and is not speaking on behalf of her employer, The New York Times.
