Jotham’s parable warns what happens when productive people refuse power and bramble men seize it instead (Judg. 9). The olive, fig, and vine were busy producing good fruit; the bramble only wanted rule and threatened destruction if others would not submit.

So it is today. Bramble men hate producers and seek power by restraining, harming, or controlling those who actually create and sustain life. The issue is stark: will producers be ruled by thorns, or will the power of the bramble be overthrown? Like it or not, we are all on the firing line. The only question is which side are you on?

Scripture is blunt: when God’s law is abandoned, the wicked are praised instead of restrained (Prov. 28:4). A justice system that protects criminals while penalizing victims is not neutral it has turned justice upside down. Without Biblical law, righteousness and restitution disappear, and evil is treated gently while the innocent pay the cost.

When there is no true preaching of God’s Word, “the people run wild” (Prov. 29:18). A society without vision will excuse wickedness, reward injustice, and call it compassion. Abandon God’s law, and praising the wicked becomes inevitable.

Another sure path to failure and frustration is the demand for perfection from everyone around us a demand rooted in man’s fallen longing for paradise without obedience to God. Those who insist on perfect children, perfect spouses, or perfect circumstances are invariably the most unhappy people of all, because they look for peace in others while remaining blind to their own faults. Their hunger is not for God’s holiness but for a world perfectly arranged to satisfy their own wishes, and this leads only to bitterness, disappointment, and broken relationships. The Christian, by contrast, does not look for happiness in a flawless world or flawless people but rests in a perfect God, whose faithfulness never wavers and whose providence never fails. Knowing that perfection belongs to God alone, the believer finds peace not in controlling others but in trusting the Lord, confident that if God is for us, nothing finally can be against us, and that faith in Him is the true victory that overcomes the world.

Rushdoony and Scott warn that religious conservatives face systematic silencing through laws and regulations, while communist and Marxist influences grow largely unchecked. They emphasize the importance of awareness, education, and organized Christian action to resist ideological infiltration and preserve moral and societal order.

From ancient Rome to today, rulers have promised salvation through politics. Caesar claimed it, modern politicians repeat it. But Scripture draws a sharp line: “There is none other name under heaven given among men whereby we must be saved” (Acts 4:12).

Christ alone saves. Political plans built on man bring ruin, not redemption. Truth is exclusive there are no alternate routes. When leaders offer themselves as saviors, the Christian response remains unchanged:

None other name.

The Tower of Babel was mankind’s first attempt at a one-world order: unified humanity, centralized power, and self-appointed authority replacing God. Its goal was not cooperation but control man declaring independence from God and establishing his own “salvation” through planning, hierarchy, and power.

That same Babel spirit lives on today in modern humanistic states that promise security and progress while warring against God, freedom, and responsibility. Scripture is clear: every Babylon falls. God calls His people not to bless it, but to come out from it and return to the Lord before judgment comes.
