Brian was born with a homebrewing father, within blocks of a brewery. He did a little 'research' in his younger days, and in college spent some time in London, living in an apartment with a pub on the ground floor. He spent a semester sampling English, Scottish, Irish, German, and Belgian beers and upon returning back to his college town, macro light lagers just no longer satisfied my newfound appreciation of... actual flavor.
He began homebrewing and did so for almost thirty years. The architecture/development company he spent much of his professional career with was adversely impacted by the struggles of the economy in 2007, and he needed to reinvent his life and livelihood. With encouragement from family and lots of friends, the idea of Friendship Brewing Company was launched.
He identified a century old building in his home neighborhood and spent about four years renovating the property, again - with friends. They then staffed the brewery with.... friends. Four years later everything they do is fueled by friendships; old friends, new friends, and brew friends.
