In today’s episode, we are looking at standing firm in unity. We know the importance of this for teamwork, marriage, family and church, but what actually is biblical unity? The definition of unity is, “being together or at one with someone or something,” and as we will see in Ephesians 4 the goal is not just unity in and off itself, but unity around what is right and true- all for God’s glory. In addition, unity is not uniformity, because we all have different gifts given by Him for His glory and the maturity of His children (Ephesians. 4:11-13). However, we are all called to put off our old selves, and put on the new because we are new creations in Christ- to NOT be unified with our old ways of life. My prayer is that through this scripture in Ephesians we will be encouraged towards true unity and maturity, reflecting His righteousness and holiness as the body of Christ.
“I saw a huge crowd, too huge to count. Everyone was there—all nations and tribes, all races and languages. And they were standing, dressed in white robes and waving palm branches, standing before the Throne and the Lamb and heartily singing: Salvation to our God on his Throne!” Revelation 7:9-12
